Regional airline, Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has banned the in-flight use and charging of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smart phones on all fights.

This follows reports from Samsung that the smartphone’s battery poses a threat of fire once it becomes overheated. In a recent release, CAL said the decision was based on a directive from the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA).

The airline advised that the device can be taken on board in a person’s carry-on luggage or on their person, but they must not be used once on board.

What a sad blow for the Samsung Note 7. Such a huge fan of them and was really anticipating the arrival and later purchase of this flagship device. Hope the note 7 can find quick solutionto this technological glitch. But why would the Samsung company release this device without putting it through a rigourous test if you know this is a flagship phone? Do I smell here software hacking and corruption from other rival companies notable Apple? What are Samsung engineers paid for to do…A whole damn year and cannot perfect a device. Soo much loopholes…we won’t understand at all. Best I go get a Nokia phone back in the late 90s early 2000s. These were old faithful

Would this not be something else if it caught fire while in flight? There are some stubborn ones who might still try to use it.
Precaution is better than cure. I hope every passenger is informed when purchasing a ticket from an airline, a travel agency, at the ticket booth and also while boarding the plane.
