Dominica News Online would like to thank ALL readers and advertisers for helping us to make history in the New Year.
Statistics show we recorded just over 30,000 unique visitors for the first seven days in January 2011, which is unprecedented in the life of the company. On average, we record 15,000 unique visitors a week.
This statistic is part of a growing trend over the last six months when DNO’s monthly average readership jumped from 50,000 to 52,000, and with us recording almost 57,000 readers in December – a month which historically has a low readership for us.
Regardless of the many challenges we experience everyday, this increase in readership is a clear indication that the majority of Dominicans at home and abroad support the site.
Heartfelt congratulations to our one main reporter and the other writers who strain to get the information out under trying circumstances, every day, almost 24/7. We are also grateful to the persons who submit constructive criticisms by email and phone calls, also those who encourage us. We appreciate it.
A Caucasian gentleman from the UK, with the initials JR, once sent a comment to us stating: “Congrats DNO on your third anniversary. This is no easy task. We tried something like that up here and we gave up in three months! And we had 10 times the staff you did! This a lion-hearted effort and people will only talk and seek to destroy you when you do good. Keep up the good work and looking forward to 50 more years in the business.”
DNO is here to stay!
Congratulations DNO. Yes this is the forum to keep us together as a nation. Readers give DNO a clap of teh hand. Merrick I do wish you sucess and more sucess this year.
Readers let us as I always say be respectful to one another even if we do not always share the same views. We can disagree respectfully and there i sno need to hurt others. Let us be the family we are suppose to be sharing and loving one another.
DNO, you are the best. I wanted to respnd ealier but a Malfini had poopoo on my laptop under the breadfruit tree and messed up my keypad. Thanks for the great service you do, you have given even the accadimically challenged(like myself) a voice on the WWW. Thanks.
since being on annual leave i have started reading DNO on a daily basis. This site is good as i feel like im in Dominica once again! Reading those interactive comments feels like im listening 2 talk shows like TRISHA GORRARD N JEREMY KYLE in de UK.
am always on DNO it’s more informative than puke 95fm.I was in disagreement when u recognize Sheridan Gregoire I guess you just playing devil’s advocate but is your choice I will not do like uwp supporters and give you tongue lashing for that.Your web site is balanced and gives views of all sides red blue green nuetral.I wish radio station puke 95fm was like you.U curse no one neither inslut them.Well done because many dominicans are fed up with talk shows. You news items are balanced and has more taste that the radio stations.Once again keep the good works.
Thanks DNO…Congratulations!! Keep up the good work
Congrats DNO!
You do not know how you help us Dominicans in foreign lands. As I stated previously, DNO is like home to me. Reading comments from my fellow countrymen/women is a wonderful tonic for my homesickness.
Keep up the good work!
Wow, wow, wow! This news infor is quite moving, especially the encouragement from the person of the United Kingdom. Way to go! DNO. I always believed that you guys were good, strong, and had the blessings of God. I am very happy for the management and staff of DNO.
I personally have a great benefit in that success as well. I know that God has used DNO to do His work of spreading the Gospel, through me; and DNO has willingly allowed it. I cannot complain at all. Someone even assumed that I was an employee of DNO, as they concluded that I was being given special treatment—can you believe that? I have the same problem that MOTS said he experiences.
Readers and commentators, keep that in mind. We need DNO just as much as they need us. Remember that the majority of us are Dominicans, whether we live abroad or at home, the main reason DNO serves a channel by which God keeps us together in Love. Okay?
We are going to disagree with each other from time, but let us allow Love to keep us together. Okay? Let us learn to accept corrections; defend our opinions when we have to; and exchange compliments and thank you’s to each other. Love is what makes the world go round, let us keep Love on DNO as well. God bless everyone! I feel great to be part of this! Give the praise and thanks to God!
Oh yes DNO!
Congratulations and thanks for keeping me inform with both back home and elsewhere. As I look forward in keeping updated daily with the facts from you DNO… I know it’s sure…and close to my heart and fingertips you are. Keep up the fantastic work…Bless Up to a Small Hard Working Crew of Super Big Business!!
Fo the past few weeks I have been visiting the site maybe an average of 4 times per day, to look for news updates. Yesterday I checked out the similar online news site for a sister-island, but found out that their most recent edition was in november. And DNO hits keep jumping and continuing to soar. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations DNO! Whenever I hear of and read about good matters I love to share with others. I do inform others of your Website and will always continue to do so. I also inform those who do not want a computer system to get a laptop.
You will prosper.
Your Website is extremely informative which keeps us Dominicans also abroad of what is occurring in Dominica. I have developed a great interest in what is occurring in Dominica all because of you. It has become like an addiction.
Congratulations !! Thank you for providing this medium so we can participate in discussing the issues that affect us, but most importantly, for keeping us informed in real time.
yeah – thumbs up to DNO. I am a daily reader and you are doing an excellent job. The few complaints you’ve had cannot be compared to the commendation you deserve. Business is always hard work but you are well on your way, not without obstacles though, but you are well-able to overcome those challenges.
I pray this for you, that the Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth will guide you daily and will keep you protected. May He give you wisdom to move in the right direction at all times and strength to keep your head above water when the storms are raging.
Blessings always.

You make me laugh, and even when those who are irritated with you, bark at you, they seem to be funny as well; especially that you simply ignore them. Let us continue to support our news site okay!
