Business Insider has named Dominica among the best lesser known islands in the Caribbean.

“If you’re sick of cruise ports but still looking for some fun in the sun, consider an island that isn’t as frequently traveled,” an article in the magazine said.

It said Dominica and the other islands named are “just as worthy of a visit.”

The article described Dominica as “untouched by tourist populations.”

Other islands on the list are Montserrat, St. Kitts, Martinique and Guadeloupe.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DOMINICA, yes there’s a BUT, I’m afraid of the hills. I’m petrified of driving in the hills. When I was a little girl growing up, I loved those hills. My beloved grandmother would take me with her when she went gardening. It felt like I was going up into the heaven, may she rest in peace, bringing tears to my eyes just typing this comment. I would like to visit need to get over my fear.

DOMINICA is definitely THE LAND OF BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this day and age access to Dominica is still the biggest problem facing its development.

This Geeme, geeme, geeme; who ever he or she is should revoke his/her Dominica citizenship. One cannot hate his own country like that.

@ I am Dominican, I am a deep lover of my beautiful country called Dominica. I love Dominica to death so much so that when it’s time to leave this earth I want my remains to be buried in Dominica. Haters of Dominica are those leaving abroad and came to vote Skerrit on our backs especially when they know he did not think too highly of Dominica when he sought foreign nationality, gave birth to his royal son in the US and his lead attorney friend migrated to the US. Haters of my beautiful country are those that sit their and say nothing while they allow one of their employees to destroy their country, and then went to China and tell Chinese there is no restriction or limit to what they are allowed to do here. I am simply fighting to protect my country from foreigners who will be given our lands for nothing and the time our children are ready they will be told by foreigners, to get out! Judge yourself to see if you are a true lover or secret hater of Dominica.

I agree with you @I am Dominican. People claim to love their country so much but whenever something positive arises, they’re quick to bring down the country anyway they can. They don’t realize that they do more harm than good when they act like that. It is okay to oppose, but when it comes to things like this, WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF OUR LITTLE HOME. People like Geeme, Geeme, Geeme are always quick to spill acid on something good. This article had nothing to do with Skerrit and his camp (not that I know of) and even if it does, it’s a good thing to have people read something good about my land. I love reminding people that if the Government isn’t doing a good job in developing our island, let us work to do what we can to develop in areas where they’re lacking. Dominica is our own to build. So i will be taking this article as a citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica and sharing it around, in hopes that it gets all the attention it deserves and attracts the right people.

I love Dominica to death and I am of her biggest promoters. I am happy to tell people where I am froam and describe the beauty that is Dominica. BUT (you knew a BUT was coming) my biggest deterrent to going to Dominica is the travel time.

When my grandmother was alive I made it a point to visit every year, but since she died, I just don’t have the energy to spend so much time and effort trying to get to Dominica.

Overnighting in Barbados or PR just does not appeal to me.

Cheer up Zandoli, it could be worse. You may have to overnight in Antigua, think about that!

This must be a typo by the writer of this article “Accommodations wise, there are MANY HOTEL OPTIONS, but Secret Bay is really a must-see.”
this is the last sentence in the paragraph before the last about Dominica.

“The article described Dominica as “untouched by tourist populations.” The Business Insider might soon have to change their mind about Dominica because when Mr. Skerrit and others will convince enough Chinese and Malaysians to invest in their citizenship-by-investment program, and Chinese start to own land and property all over in Dominica, including on mountain tops, business insider will find out that not only Dominica is touched but contaminated. Dominica might soon lose this “untouched” status, unless we understand the danger Skerrit and his DLP posing to our beautiful country and get rid of them.

“The article described Dominica as “untouched by tourist populations.”
Tourists usually read a lot about an island before they plan their trip. When they look at pictures of Dominica they will no doubt want to visit this beautiful island. However, when they read certain statements made by the nation’s leader they will be forced to change their mind. I mean who is going to think highly of Dominica when the nations Prime Minister can go to China and make statements like: “Those who want to own a second passport can invest in construction projects in Dominica, while the country is now working with an immigration consultancy to promote its citizenship-by-investment program. Just that alone is spelt trouble for tourist. ” Look more damaging statements “Skerrit also said that applicants would not be taxed on their property, and that there were no regulations on capital gains and no language requirements.” When you make this sales pitch you are indirectly saying we are good for…

You taking about Dominicans need to take better care of the island and too much rubbish? Wait until locals will become minorities to Chines and you will tell me. Wait until Skerrit give all you country to Chinese, who are not required to speak English, pay taxes on their property, and no regulations on capital gains. We really need to take better care of the island and “Pa Kitay yo pwe Dominique hod nou.”

I wonder if that business insider did not originate from Malaysia or China. The language of this article sounds similar to that of those that trying to sell Dominica for $200K.
