Dominican cops emerge on top in regional training course

Constable Curlson Letang (left) and Constable Kenny Thomas.

Two police officers from the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force have emerged on top in a recently concluded Regional Security System (RSS) Basic Training Course.

Constable Curlson Letang captured the 1st position and the prize for best physical- male category, while Constable Kenny Thomas copped the 2nd position and the prize for best at academics.

The training was conducted in two phases. The theoretical phase was conducted in Barbados and Jungle Phase was conducted in St. Vincent from March 18 to June 08, 2012.

The two constables were among five officers from the force chosen to participate in the training course. The others were Jermain Moses, Sherman George and Silas Jean.

35 officers from seven Caribbean countries took part in the course.

Congrats guys for making Dominicans proud.
You are the future of this once proud organization and is already part of the team that will see the recovery and eventual return to the glory days when community and cops woked arm in arm. The days when the ONLY people who feared the police were the criminals and their abetors. Those were the days when officers respected each other, their juniors, community and ESPRIT DE CORPS reigned supreme. The good old days of Butcher, Alpe, Simon Darroux, Smith (s), Inspector Challenger, Inspector St. Rose and yes, who can forget Inspector Julie Austrie.

Thanks for your selfless service and sacrifice and keep making us proud. May god protect and bless you all.

    Assertive, NOT in anyway Agressive!

Inasmuch as I have added my views on the alleged corruption and low morale in the Police force, It would be remiss and hypocritical of me if I do not add my congratulations to these two young men, who have set the example for others. Indeed, we are very proud of you guys. Please continue to contribute in whatever way you can to inspire your colleagues and to help uplift the overall morale of the force. Do your best TO PROTECT AND SERVE US WITH PRIDE.

Officer George you made us all so proud. Who would have thought? This truly shows that with God all things are possible. Keep on trusting in him and he will see you thru. Keep on representing. From all of us in RC especially the youth of the Riviere Cyrique Pentecostal Church. Stay in God! There is much more to come once you remain grounded in him.

good job guys.people will be bias even when you do well, police is not to blame for the crime committed in the world, crime began long before.we must look at our attitude and raise our kids well and be our brothers keepers and stop behaving like police is jesus christ.we see things and pay a blind eye until it end up on our door steps and then want the police to work miracles
