Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said a Development Partners Conference held at the Fort Young Hotel on Monday has exceeded the expectations of the government of Dominica.

“The results on the donors meeting have gone beyond our expectations as the government,” Skerrit said at a press conference following the event.

The conference was held to inform the donor community of Dominica’s efforts at recovery after Tropical Storm Erica and to indicate to them the specific areas of possible assistance that they can to provide to Dominica.

“As I said to you on Friday, we don’t expect people to come and to say we will give a ten, we will give a five, it was a dialogue it was an exchange of views and exchange of ideas, an exchange of suggestions,” the Prime Minister said. “For us this is a partnership. It is not about Dominica and this country or this organization.”

Skerrit said the meeting was also about friendship.

“It’s about friends of Dominica who have had a very close involvement in our economic development and social advancement from independence and we have worked with them on a number of critical areas and they continue to demonstrate their commitment to us,” he pointed out. “So we are very grateful for their presence and the keen interest that they took.”

Meantime Prime Minister Skerrit used the opportunity to urge the public to “exercise restraint” in their requests to the government in the wake of the storm because recovery will take time.

“I want to again, as I have done on every occasion I speak to the public, that we have to exercise restraint in our requests and demands from government,” he stated. “We have to understand that we will not see the total retransformation to the country in three years or four years. It will take some time and therefore we have to set very strong and concentrated priorities. We will not be able to do everything at the same time so therefore we have to go in an organized systematic way of reconstructing.”

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said at Donor Conference: “We want in four years’ time when you return to this island that you will be amazed by the transformation that would have taken place and be satisfied with the soundness of your investment and contribution to the cause.”

”We have to understand that we will not see the total retransformation to the country in three years or four years.” That’s according to Mr. Skerrit.

At the meeting of the donors, Skerrit told the donors Dominica will be transformed in 4 years. Now, he is telling the Dominican public do not expect Dominica to be transformed in four years. Which is it, Mr. Skerrit?

It is not the first time Skerrit speaks from both sides of his mouth.

Something wrong with this guy’s mentality

Lmao. What were the expectations? What were the results that came to the conclusion we exceeded those expectations. We’re these countries expectations or skerrit expectations. Why after such a disaster is the parliament which is the governing body not officially called to set a path forward that all can debate and sign on. The PM speeches can be described as farts/poom. They are mostly air that stinks coming from the rare end.

Does the Prime Minister really believes expectations will full the empty bellies of the people of Dominica or remove the Boetica and Delices people out of the cage or put the young people to work before Christmas or reunite the laid off workers of Public Works with their brothers and sisters or the truck drivers who have not gotten paid for months or the relocation of the people of Petite Savanne and Dubique. In order for any expectation coming from the Skeritt led Administration to become a reality it usually takes approximately four years to coincide with general elections , therefore, why is he trying to fool Dominicans.

Roosevelt Skerrit has said absolutely zilch, nada, nothing. First of all we have no clue who these donors are and secondly we do not know what the government expectations were so how can we judge the outcome of this meeting? This is just so much more spittle in the wind.

As per usual, Skerrit utters 1000 words without providing one bit of meaningful info. Bottom line, if it had been a true success he would have blown his horn very loud for everybody to hear to let us know what a successful and clever PM he is.
Skerrit, after 15 years the majority of Dominicans can see right through you and that number is increasing by the day.

Who were the potential donors? This story is not complete until the potential donors are listed.

The conference was held to inform the donor community of Dominica’s efforts at recovery after Tropical Storm Erica and to indicate to them the specific areas of possible assistance that they can to provide to Dominica.
And our PM says: “The results of the donors meeting has gone beyond our expectations as a government.”
That’s because the forum was to inform about the efforts aimed at recovery and to show dem what areas of assistance that we need. Plainly put this forum was an information session. no commitments from de representative agencies.

It was just an exchange of views ideas and suggestions.

That’s one hell of a lot of varee to come out with nothing at de end.
Not one commitment before de year ends.

I am very disappointed in your efforts Skerrit.
Dat forum was nothing like the ones in Malaysia, Singapore etc.
    That’s like chalk and cheese.

ALAS POOR YOU!!!!!!!!!Negativity must be your middle name so you are alas negativity….. FYI committments were made by the donors……… If you were a donor or maybe had a donor representing you would have known that but you have NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE EXCEPT YOUR MIDDLE NAME WHICH WE HAVE NO TIME FOR SO STAY OUT OF OUR AFFAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!
