Fisheries Division launches Diamond Back Squid to public

fisheryThe Fisheries Division of Dominica, under the title of “Fishery Flavors”, is launching Diamond Back Squid to the Dominican public after a successful Diamond Back Squid tasting at Westport Tavern at Citronier.

According to the division, “The Dominica Diamond Back Squid Tasting was great and we had to do it all again but this time it’s on you to decide what you’d like to try.”

“We have some live entertainment and array of options to choose from this Friday October 3rd for our first ever Squid night affair by Fishery Flavors.”

“Whether you’re coming for a three-course meal or just an appetizer and drinks we are inviting you to join us. Be sure to call and make a reservation with your time of preference, so that we can cater to everyone accepting this invitation.”

And of course, this has been open to the public over the past month but Westport Tavern Family gets preference. So call today and book with us at 276-9513 or 616 4337.

The division also said, “We are more than happy to answer any question you may have, just remember this Friday Westport Tavern will be cooking up a storm with Premium Dominica Diamond Back Squid.”

It is the desire of the Fisheries Division to see this un-utilized specie develop into a fishery and fit into our socio economic framework.

Congrats to the fisheries division for taking this initiative. We talking food security here. Lets explore all we have and make the best use of this delicacy. Hats off to the staff but More specifically, Gerrant who coordinated this whole concept and worked tirelessly to get this going!!! How visionary!!!
Dominica can now use this sea food and be the envy of all Caribbean islands for having something else on its menu besides lobster, prawns, and those readily available seafood items in those islands.
    Congrats !!!
