House Hunters International comes to Dominica again

hgtvAn episode of House Hunters International, filmed in Dominica, is scheduled to be aired on Home & Garden Television (HGTV )on February 25.

This is the second time an episode of the hit series, which was done in Dominica, is hitting the screens of HGTV viewers.

According to the network, “House Hunters International follows homeowners around the world as they search for the perfect home — both inside and out — at a price they can afford.”

The new episode will tell the story of British national, Sonia, and her husband of 15 years, Ron and their quest to find a home in Dominica.

According to HGTV, Sonia had paid little attention to Ron’s suggestion about island living since she was engulfed in her career.

However, when she developed a passion for health and wellbeing, Ron’s constant reminder of a healthier, simpler life in the Caribbean paid off and they agreed to move to Dominica.

They sold their UK home, Ron’s business and all their belongings and set their eyes on the island.

But before they could begin their new lives, they had to find a home with a budget of $350,000.

If you want to follow the couple’s adventure, tune in on February 25.

The show will be aired at 10:30 PM e/p and 1:30 AM e/p on HGTV.

In August, 2011 House Hunters International featured another British couple who left London to find their home in Dominica.

Approximately 98,229,000 households in the US receive HGTV.

Viewers in Dominica can view HGTV on channel 49 on SAT, however the network is not available on Marpin.

Good exposure but I hope they will be leaving in DA the legal way. We can’t go anywhere without proper documentation but others tend to move into our Island without a problem. Yes I am American by citizenship and had to do it the right way or else I would be looking over my shoulder everywhere I go. But the same should go for anyone moving to DA. You can’t enter and leave there without proper documentation.

This is Great Exposure for Dominica. I can’t tell you how many times I have to explain to people in the US where I am from. The more exposure the better. I love this show and will be watching.

I have been out of Dominica for 34 years and by the time I retire I will have lived outside Dominica for more than 45 years.

I had always planned to move back after I retire, but I am having some second thoughts.

I love my country and I am not being critical, but the question my wife and I have yet to answer was: what are we going to do with all that extra time?

Why waste time on the negative part of the story which is just a few words of the story and not the main topic?

You may prefer Marpin but as of yesterday SAT still carries HGTV, although they seemed to have dropped about half of their programming and the signal isn’t so great.

To those crying it makes no sense because you can’t see it, slap yourselves. It’s not about you. You may not see it but hundreds of thousands of others will and that’s the point. besides there’s always youtube and streaming among the alternative options.

This makes no sense cause we cannot see it anyways cause MARPIN 2K4 removed HGTV and replaced it with DIY. As if we have sheet rock wooden houses like a America to Do It Yourself (DIY). :-x

Customers should be notified some months in advance when TV Providers plan to cease carrying certain channels/programs.
Marpin short-changed its D/can customers. Give them Hell!
Customers deserve good programs. Marpin deserves,
