The Kingshill Baptist Church has donated over 200 toys to children in the Kingshill community, as part of its first ever ‘toy drive’.

The initiative was undertaken by the Sunday School Department of the church, spearheaded by Pastor Leon Colymore.

Children who are members of the church were presented with their gifts on Sunday 21st December 2014, while other children in the community received their gifts on Tuesday 23rd December 2014 at a gathering at the Kingshill playing field.

Pastor Colymore said that the initiative is geared at spreading the joy of Christmas to Kingshill residents while at the same time, giving members an opportunity to show appreciation and love to children in the community.

He said, “next year, the church intends on partnering with some of its sister churches like the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church in St Joseph, among others to undertake an even bigger toy drive.”

The Kingshill Baptist Church which opened its doors in the early 60’s has two programs, the Sunday School Department and the AWANA Club, both geared at developing the social, physical and spiritual needs of children.

The Youth Department as well as the Men’s Group and Women’s group for adults are also very active.

Yes there was a gathering at the new park by the Savannah on the 23rd December, 2014. I was there and can attest that several children received gifts. The pictures of the community were not used i assume since permission was needed to use them
