The operations manager of Tamarind Tree Hotel Stefan Lörner has been appointed Person of Trust of the German Embassy in Dominica.

Lörner, who was introduced to the position by Ambassador Dr. Ernst Martens during a reception at the hotel on June 9, will act as a go-between and help liaise with the Embassy.

“The ambassador was looking for someone who can fill out that post and finally he appointed me,” he noted during an interview with DNO.

Lörner was born in the German city of Gießen. He has been residing here since 1998 managing his hotel and restaurant at Macoucherie on the West Coast, along with his wife.

“If a German cruise ship passenger or if a German [resident] gets into problems or they need something with their passport I have to help. If someone has an accident or they get sick and they have no one here I have to contact the German Embassy; I have to call the flight ambulance,” he explained.

He said he has been officially introduced to Government officials.
