I think Pageant viewer are missing the point. We only saw the show last night, but there were preliminaries which includes Interview which we were not privilege to see. However on the night of the show, the Judges are not looking for the right or wrong answer, they are not looking for the most politically correct answer. If such was the case, the delegate from Ukraine would have been wearing the crown. I am proud of my Caribbean Girls including the BVI, they represented Us well. However there was a moment right before Miss Jamaica answered the Question where she was still looking an answer within her 30 sec of answering. It was within that time that she went on to acknowledge the Judges.
The Judges are for GRACE UNDER PRESSURE. This is how well the delegate could formulate an answer to a question within a 30 second period.

Let’s be objective here. Miss Mexico did not answer the question directed at her, however, Miss Jamaica failed to objectively answer the question. Frankly, her response was simply mediocre. I am a God fearing person and am all for the religious slant on things. Nonetheless, as Caribbean people we have to get into the habit of thinking and critiquing on a more logical and analytical level. Her response would have been appropriate for a teenage pageant and not Miss Universe.

    Congrats to Miss Mexico

@Unbelievable: I Agree with you, Miss Jamaica had the highest score in every round, and to me she was the one who answered her question correctly.. One person that is allowed to take life and that’s the creator, he gave us life he should be the one to take it away from us…

@Wondering…: lack of funds. You are aware that the entry fee to enter the Miss Universe competition is 30,000 USD?

Totally unbelievable how she won the crown over Misss Jamaica. Miss Mexico did not answer the question asked to her just like Miss Phillipines. She was asked about the dangers of unsupervised use of the internet by children and all she could say was about the internet is good to have access to. Pure crap. When these guys with all their money can impose a Miss universe on us for what ever reason I really wonder about the fairness in this world.

Miss Jamaica on the other hand answered her question on the “death penalty” perfectly. Only the Creator is the giver of like hence he should be the only taker of life. We as mere mortals have no rights to take another’s life.

Miss Jamaica is “my” Miss Universe.

  12. Wondering...

What I’m wondering is why the Miss “Caribbean World” esp those who hail from the Nature Isle..doesn’t contest the Miss Universe…Is it lack of funding or what?….Anyway on another note, Jamaica rocked that show. She was the Caribbean’s winner.
