New developments coming for Trafalgar

McIntyre

Plans are underway to develop a new housing scheme in the Trafalgar area.

Parliamentary Representative for Trafalgar Colin McIntyre has disclosed that technical work on the housing project in Lily Valley has begun.

“This housing development project will provide improved housing for low and middle income residents of the village. As a matter of fact we’re going to look at ten new units and we have already started the foundation for five of them… some of our labourers, they are presently working at Lilly Valley to build these houses,” he stated.

Mcintyre also said monies have already been set aside for a multi-purpose community centre for the Trafalgar community.

“We have pledged already $150,000 for this project. This has been sitting in an account for too long,” he said.

The new building is expected to house educational, and craft activities among others.

The calypso house in bathe estate cost over $750.000 a community center which should be more updated and innovative should cost way more than the figure you have accumulated. It would be of great interest to know about the total cost of the 10 or 15 houses that will be built for low or no income people. Is it a ply wood shack or as the politicians normally say STATE OF THE ARTt….. lol

All that is good but are there any measures in place to fix the shortcut that now represents the Copthall road from the junction of the Trafalgar road? A death trap waiting to happen. Where are your priorities?
