With 2010 just days away, Dominica News Online took to the streets to find out how Dominicans planned to improve their lives in the New Year.
Soca artist, Gifted Son, said he intends to take entertainment in Dominica to a whole new level in 2010. He told DNO that he would put his best foot forward in the New Year and present Dominica’s music at the highest standard that it could be.
Another Dominica, Cyril, did not share such lofty goals, but he told DNO he would continue to try to be the best man he could be. Cyril also resolved to be more understanding and patient in 2010.
Maternal goals were the main priority for a woman named Matali. Matali told DNO that her aim is to have a baby in 2010. However, she is also hoping that she will find a job in the New Year.
The focus was on education for two students who spoke to DNO. Denroy resolved to do his best to finish college and get a job which pays well. He said that he would also try to “ease up” on partying. Meanwhile, Kervel resolved to do whatever it takes to pass her CXC examinations and get enrolled at the Dominica State College.
Finally, a man who chose to go by the name of ‘Japs’ or ‘Japanese’ said that he intended to become a better man in 2010 and show his lady more love.
However, Japs was quick to point out that he did not place much stock in such goals.
“I don’t like to make New Year’s resolutions, because I doesn’t keep most of it,” Japs observed.
In the new year i will continue to do what i started last year. be real and true to me and to hell with what people say………………….To all the commenters also the staff of the Dominica News online Happy Holiday.
For the New Year, I want to focus on all things good. It is a time to start afresh as the years turn and I want to recondition my thoughts to think on all things that are lovely and of a gd report.

I don’t understand why people wait until Jan 1st to start making ‘improvements’ in their lives. there is no better time than the present. … don’t wait for a particular date to make positive changes,…… the best time is right now,…. JUST DO IT!!
