Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit will fly out of Dominica today at the helm of a regional fact-finding mission bound for Haiti and The Bahamas; the two Caribbean countries hardest hit by Hurricane Matthew last week.

Mr. Skerrit is the current Chairman of CARICOM and, as such, leads the region’s first response effort to assess the level of damage and destruction wreaked on those sister member states of the regional integration and economic movement.

Prime Minister Skerrit will be accompanied from Dominica by Government’s Advisor on Disaster Management, Cecil Shillingford, and will be joined, en route to The Bahamas by CARICOM Secretary General, Irwin Laroque, Executive Director of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency—CDEMA Ronald Jackson, and other technical staff.

The Dominica Leader was the first to officially acknowledge the devastation and announced last Friday (October 07, 2016), in an address to the nation, the establishment of a National Hurricane Matthew Disaster Relief Effort, to be spearheaded in Dominica by the private sector.

Mr. Skerrit recalled that just over one year ago, Dominica was ravaged by the passage of Tropical Storm Erika and that it was CARCIOM member states and wider hemispheric partners that came to Dominica’s immediate assistance. He appealed to the private sector of Dominica to be proactive in lending support, suggesting that he wanted Dominica to be in a position to dispatch help to Haiti and The Bahamas by this weekend.

Since that address by the Prime Minister, the death toll in Haiti alone, has risen to close to 1 000, and it is feared that this number will continue to rise, given that several areas are still not accessible to rescue teams.

Bahamas on the other hand, suffered considerable damage to its road and housing infrastructure. The Dominica Leader also said in his address that he would be paying close attention to the impact of Hurricane Matthew on the United States of America.

Businesses and individuals in Dominica who want to contribute to the national appeal effort have been advised to liaise with the Office of Disaster Management, the Red Cross or other such agencies, and to make their initial pledge, followed by actual donations during the course of this week.

Prime Minister Skerrit is expected to update the nation and the wider region on his observations and interactions with his Haitian and Bahamian counterparts, on his return from the disaster stricken nations.

Most Dominicans who reside in Dominica are very ungrateful people . How many countries help you all during the flood destruction ? People went over and above to donate to Dominica . You all have been receiving assistance from many countries, but now your time to reciprocate the action , you all finding it too hard to do . Be careful that God punish you all with more floods .God loves a cheerful giver . when you give to the needy it is a Blessing . Stop being greedy , ungrateful. Real Dominicans are loving, caring, givers . STOP YOUR UNGRATEFULNESS IF NOT PREPARE FOR THE WRATH OF GOD. YOU think what is happening in the world right now is a mistake ? It is the work of God .

How the main stream media lie and mock us?

Look at the picture, is it from Haiti? Why could they not have shown us a recognizable place in Haiti that was damaged by the Hurricane?

They play with our minds constantly.

… do not donate to agencies as the Hatians will either never see the full amount, or only see a small part of it.

Let’s help Haiti, but lets do it by our direct contributions to the people affected. Do not let our leaders take our tax money to give to Haiti as the Hatians will NEVER see that money and guess who’s bank account it will end up in? Ask any RC priest and they will tell you :)

‘Aid’ to Haiti provides an excellent way for our leaders to launder money. This is how the scam works:-

    1) the target country is damaged (via HAARP-made hurricanes, or airstrikes, etc.)
    2) ‘aid’ is promised by via ‘donations’ to ageencies from unsuspecting ordinary people, or money is ‘donated’ from the tax revenue of the donor countries;
    3) the donated money to the target country is never fully accounted for, or simply disappears and ends up in the offshore bank accounts of the donators’ executives (PM’s, etc.).

Think this is bull? Work out why after Erika and the millions given to Haiti for rebuilding, it still remained in a mess? Secondly, the UN-engineered cholera outbreak will lead to mass vaccinations which is one of the primary tools for its depopulation agenda.

Therefore, we must: 1) Demand that our government strictly accounts for ALL money sent to Haiti
    2) give donations PERSONALLY to those affected; 3) not donate to agencies direct as the Haiti will…

He is the PM and Chairman of CARICOM. Therefore he cannot keep quiet and sit back. All D/cans should be proud and thankful that their leader, under the circumstances, has taken the initiative to visit those countries for the intended purpose.

The once anti government specialist on the Freedom Voice and Q95 is now Skerrit ace advisor what a world we live in. His colleagues in the Freedom Party and also his moves to align himself with the UWP on risk management and disaster matters to the extent that he called the government as a waste of time and disaster management is not a priority for this inept government is now emboiled in the cabal to the amazement of many. In the beginning he said he was lending support to the disaster preparedness office for three months. After nine months he is now referred to governments chief advisor. The two party’s freedom and the uwp are still shell shocked at this guys convert move. Suffice it to say Let’s hope they can do good for Haiti and Cuba.

I suppose that means the first leader in Dominica to acknowledge; because we had minuet by minuet information as it happened, and Skerrit crapo voice was not heard! Remember Skerrit is only recognized by his red devils in Dominica.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I hope he walk with some of his commission from the sale of our passports to donate to Haiti, and the Bahamas both better off in wealth than Dominica, even if some believe Haiti is so poor, in comparisons to Dominica, but be reminded there are less than seventy thousand people in Dominica, whereas there are several millions of people approximately in Haiti!

The only sensible statement so far , in a very long time . You may be one of the wise one with a little Dominican blood in your veins . I would agree fully with that statement you have written . What they should know is that there is life and death in the power of our tongue. When you keep pronouncing curse words over the nation , you are inviting and allowing evil to prevail over the country and its people .;so who is really destroying the growth of the country? It is you , those of you who constantly utter curse words on the nation . It is not the Prime Minister , it is all of you naysayers .

This domain is 100% private and is listed as a \’search engine\’.

As it is private (even ICANN won\’t give up any information on who owns it, you can work out that the CIA, or a similar agency is behind it.

To recap, they say that Dominica has:

      a) around 800 deaths per annum
      b) prevalent diseases – Cerebrovascular disease; Diabetes mellitus; Ischemic heart disease
      c) life expectancy – 77 years
      d) rating – one of the world\’s 10 most dangerous countries for health.

As the powers that be are on our case, there is ZERO that Tourism Ministry can do to stop the propaganda.

Passport sales is the ONLY thing that Dominica has going for it. The ONLY thing.

Nothing else comes close to bringing in the kind of money that our passport sales can do. For example, 100 passports sold will bring in more than USD20M into someone’s bank account. It is possible to sell more than 100 passports in 4 months as rich people like the benefit they can get from a passport that gives them zero tax on their worldwide income and visa-free travel to 100 countries.

Do you know of any other commodity in Dominica that can bring in that kind of money?

What we as citizens should be doing is, instead of complaining, to be trying to get a piece of that fat pie. Let’s petition our government to change the law so that if a Dominican marries a foreigner, their spouse is immediately entitled to a full citizenship. This means that every adult in Dominica could marry a foreigner for money and get USD200,000 which is big money for all Dominicans.

  15. What a joke
    October 10, 2016

What a BIG joke! Help with what? Does Dominica own a helicopter? A military plane or vessel to transport supplies or food stuffs? A active defence force? A fleet of skilled engineers/builders to assist with rebuilding? Dominican builders can not even secure Government contracts to erect bridges in their own country! All of the infrastructure in Dominica built over the last 16 years have been built by Chinese…Skerrit has absolutely nothing to offer these people, but a photo op to glorify himself…

You see you all do not understand how the Donation system works , so instead of blaa, blaaa, blaa find out the facts . Let me explain one project for example so you can get an understanding. Lets say Dominica needs a back wall from Roseau to Colihaut , Dominica does not have that kind of money to build it so PM goes out to China to get aid , China agrees on conditions , yes I will build the wall but my men will work because Dominica cannot pay back the large sum of money that China is prepared to spend , What did Dominica need ? a wall from Roseau to Colihaut . so if China sends her men to build the wall , what is the force ? Dominica gets the wall built , China men get paid and Dominica has no debt to China , What is so hard that you all cant understand?

He won’t if our efforts are to help the wicked rip off the people they have intentionally wronged.

Matthew was an engineered hurricane (see HAARP/ weather warfare technology) designed to create destruction so that ‘aid’ money can be laundered back into the bank accounts of the doners.

Do not be tricked. Do not give money to any aid agencies, do not allow Skerro to give our tax money to Haiti. If you want to help Haitians, do it directly. Get in touch with an affected Haitian and give them money DIRECTLY. Only then will they get anything near its value.
