It is not easy to take from your hard earned money and give to a charitable organization.
But for the staff at Sagicor Insurance Company it was no big deal.
Members of staff of the company have gotten together and raised $6,750 which was donated to the Dominica Red Cross on Tuesday.
Manager of Sagicor Dominica, Cheryl Rolle, said it all came about after the devastation cause by the Christmas Eve 2013 rains which caused widespread devasation to the south of the island.
“We came together as staff and took the decision and it was a gesture well received by our head office,” she stated at a brief handing over ceremony.
President of the Dominica Red Cross, Phillip White, accepted on behalf of the organization and expressed his gratitude to Sagicor staff for the kind gesture.
“People need to come forward to help the Red Cross,” he said. “This money is timely as we will soon be heading into the hurricane season.”
Congratulations to Sagicor staff on this noble gesture.
In these hard times, it takes a lot of sacrifice to give.
But you did it.
Congrats and Blessed Easter.
