Reunion time

The triad community of Bense, Anse D Mai and Ans Solda is counting down to their reunion event now just a month and a few weeks away.

Organisers say they are preparing this weekend to launch the Fete component to the two week long community Reunite effort.

According to officials of the Commitee for the Improvement of the Triad Communities, the weekend activity will set the tone for the event.

They are promising northern nationals a “preview” that’ll engage them in more than “24 hours of nonstop entertainment”.

The activity will feature Antigua’s soca ambassador Claudette “CP” Peters and Dominican headliner Marsha Augustine and her band.

Augustine is a Paix Bouche native.

The event  will also Feature a Bouyon Soca Fusion from Dominica’s Bouyon Ambassadors – WCK Band, and will be powered by the reunion’s  official sound company, Club DVD.

Interesting spelling: “Anse D Mai and Ans Solda.” I know it helps with pronunciation but it would be good to educate readers by giving them the correct spelling–Anse de Mai and Anse Soldat.

Those words have French origins. Anse is the French word for “Bay.” (Portsmouth was called “Grande Anse” because it’s a huge bay.) Mai is the month of May, and Soldat is “Soldier.”

    Voila!

Peace and harmony. I do hope that the communities will utilize the event as a stimulus to improve community activities, love and more love , charity, friendship and the opportunity to do more joint projects – let this event be sustainable.

    Good luck.
