The Dominica Met Office is alerting residents of the island of a strong tropical wave with an associated area of low pressure that is moving across the Lesser Antilles.
Associated weather, that is cloudiness, pockets of moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms, gusty winds and moderate to rough seas are affecting portions of the Lesser Antilles.
There is a high chance that this wave could develop into a tropical depression soon. A reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate this system later today, if necessary.
Residents should monitor the progress/development of this system and exercise caution in their movements bearing in mind that potential hazards, such as flash floods, land/mud slides, falling rocks and hazardous seas could impact Dominica.
Additionally, a small craft warning is in effect for moderate to rough seas. The fishing/marine community should pay attention and exercise extreme caution.
The Met office will continue to monitor and assess the situation and provide updates, if necessary.
Information can also be accessed from the Met Office’s web site at www.weather.gov.dm and the weather hotline at 447 5555.
I HOPE IT DON’T REACH IN DOMINICA.
GOD GUIDE US. PLEASE GUIDE US LORD
Have faith in our Minister…he is making preparations…we will be safe as long as we follow the proper orders
i hope dat rain stop soon bcuz we doh need that for CITP
there seems to be some inconsistencies in the reporting of this wave. The national hurricane centre said that it is in the caribean sea and according to the pic im seeing here the wave is not yet in the caribbean sea.
Often times the area of low pressure is way ahead of the rains and winds, especially when it is so disorganized. Its not even tropical storm, so there is no real eye around which the wind and rain rotate.
u should try to understand certain things b4 postin comments – like when was the pic taken and the clouds IS NOT the wave… go vote u seem to b idle
Do you know where THE CENTRE is?
This is not regular showers, they normerly come at a high economic price to the country. Landslides, floods, rough seas, etc etc
be safe every one
happy for the showers
Time for Dominicans to reflex and improvise.
Our road network will be drastically affected if something major happens here.
Are their any plans in place for “roads completely cut off”? Are our people thinking? what of neighboring communities.
Have you thought of that?
I doe get your point!!!! What road have to do with tropical wave
