U.S. Embassy sends advisory to U.S. citizens in Dominica

The U.S. Embassy in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean advises U.S. citizens in Dominica that there is an ongoing demonstration at Salisbury, approximately 21 kilometers south of the Ross University campus.

U.S. citizens are advised to avoid the Salisbury area and to remain indoors during the protests.

U.S. citizens should be aware that there may be other demonstrations in other parts of the island.

U.S. citizens should avoid areas of demonstration and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.

On the map for all the wrong reasons though. In the W. Indian community in London they laughing at us and shake their head and asking who is this guy Roosevelt Skerrit. I am embarrassed to admit I am a Dominican right now and can not defend what is going on my country.

On the map for wrong reasons.? is standing for our democracy wrong reason? Is telling Skerrit who is trying to pass an illegal law is for the wrong reason? Is telling us we must not question wrong doings is for the wrong reasons? Is saying enough is enough to wrong doings is for the wrong reason? Is selling our National passports to crooks and criminals and international law breakers demonstrating for the wrong reason? is preventing our representatives in Parliament from talking about the ills for the wrong reason? is turning Dominica into a police state for the wrong reason? when a member of parliament brandishes a gun from under his coat for opposition Parliamentarians, is that demonstrating for the wrong reason? When the Speaker favors the ruling government and exercises biasness towards the opposition is that demonstrating for the wrong reason? and I could go on and on and on. Stop being partisan and be patriotic. In the British and other countries it is ok to demonstr

Shame on Lennox Linton !!!! Stirring up negative Publicity on DA — try showing some love for your country instead.

It seems that the US embassy in Barbados is driving from the back seat in spreading fear into the citizenry and visitors to the island, A small village uprising is not news worthy to be hylighted into such magnitude , is the students in the northern part of the country in any immediate danger? remember , there were only 10 US visitors in Grenada when the US invaded, so the US policy is that anything can happen with a simple wife or fancy. I know for a fact that there are many Dominicans at home and abroad that wish that it could lead to where the US will invade and save Dominica its present calamity. This is an internal Dominican problem that needs to be solved by the government, opposition, and the people of Dominica.Bob D.

Well that is what Lennox want. Power by any means necessary. Even if it means destroying the country’s image. Skerrit must go and he will go. He already said so. When he does what next? Oh I guess he has to go now right? Before he can lead the DLP to another 5 years. Because Lennox knows its now or never. Hmmmm by any means necessary.

Meanwhile the name of Dominica is dragged through the mud. Why destroy a country you want to lead?

Let’s see if our Baroness had a hand in providing a Dominican diplomatic passport for her.

This is bad publicity for Dominica.
We can state those who blocked the road, set the fire and threw stones at also the police officer have no love for Dominica. They really care not what happens to it. Patriotic nationals would not as much as think of doing that, planning it and carrying it out.
If you think what you did is correct and that you are hurting Dominicans, the government for that matter, you are also hurting yourself. The curse fell on you.
Think of this: “No one heals himself by harming others.”

The US embassy should not be very concerned, because of the lack of militancy or aggressiveness of the leader of the opposition. We heard so much talk about of the intended demonstration at the parliament tomorrow, but besides the Salisbury incident, nothing else appeared to be happening. Mr. Linton is not a great leader as far as putting pressure on Government. Judging by all the talk around town and social media, one would expect the city of Roseau would be buzzing with expectation, civil disobedience and maybe fear on Monday. The pressure should have been so great, that the Ministers of Government would have had second thoughts about going to parliament of Tuesday. I believe the bill in question will be passed with no major problems either inside or outside the parliament. Dominicans are just full of talk and Skeritt knows that, this is why, no efforts were made to repeal the said bill.

        CORALLO
        MONFARED
MADUEKE, and the other criminals…..Well my friend, the entire world (including the powerful USA) knows this lazy, greedy, inept DLP because of these criminals WHO HAVE OR HAD OUR DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT. That’s why Dominica is in the gutter as you blog your garbage about Skerrit being popular…Would a popular government. one man, import voters to keep him in office?…Man go to school and “back off” with your balderdash about Skerrit being popular.

How is Lennox destroying our image? Was it Lennox Linton who was caught on numerous occasions SELLING OUR PASSPORTS to crooks and criminals ALL OVER THE WORLD?
Was it Lennox who used our flag and country’s name to VIOLATE the UN’s international sanctions on IRAN?
Was it Lennox who was cutting cake with international crooks in Malaysia?
If you step on my toe and I say “Ouch!” I guess I am spoiling my image by saying “Ouch”
