The opposition United Workers Party (UWP) is planning to host on Thursday an event dubbed, “1,000 Patriot March” against what the party leader, Lennox Linton, said is the injustice in Dominica.

The march will take place at the Lindo Park in Goodwill on Thursday, July 28, from 4:30 pm.

“This march Thursday, the 28th is a march for jobs, it’s a march for justice in Dominica, it’s a march for the improvement in the quality of life, a reduction in the cost of living, it’s a march for electoral reform, it’s a march for so many things that we want to see happen in Dominica that are not happening, a march against child abuse, a march against the abuse of government funds, this whole lack of transparency that we see in the handling of our monies from the sale of passports,” he said during an interview on Q 95 Hot Seat Programme on Monday. “You have a number of things that is injuring the interest of the people of Dominica and for which the people of Dominica needs to stand up, and the opportunity presents itself in the 1000 patriot march on Thursday for that to happen.”

According to Linton, a number of the country’s citizens have many reasons why things need to change.

“They have many reasons why they need to remind the government that all is not well, they have many reasons why they need to as a loud voice say to the government, what you are doing is not good enough, we deserve better in Dominica,” he stated.

He noted that patriots from the north-east will also join in the march to further raise their concerns over a new National Hospital in Marigot.

“The people of the north-east are enraged about this and will be coming down on Thursday to show their disgust,” he stated. “There are a number of things that upsets the people of Dominica.”

Linton indicated that it is important that people express themselves, “it is important that people let those governing them know that what you are doing is not acceptable.”

Go for it UWP….go for it Hon Linton. We have to match for justice and decency in government. Too much corruption and poor governance in Dominica by this corrupt Skerrit led government.
So Popam, whatever you thinking, your government cannot match this level of decency, because you are supporting a very incompetent and corrupt labour party government.

The purpose of me quoting all of Linton words above is to simply expose the stupidity of some Dominicans, ignorance, and stupidity of those who critique, and are against Linton’s sound fundamental, and…

    • One idiot ask if Lennox is mental, another ask if; or suggest this is not the time. The questions they ask are all stupid questions, these idiots are people to me who cannot read, they are illiterates, idiots who has no concepts of what Lennox is talking about.

They did not take time to read and understand what he is suggesting, if they did they discover, everything in the proposal is for the good of the entire country.

Lennox is asking for a better way of life for all Dominicans, electoral reform so that there can be fair and uncorrupted elections in the country, jobs, and other essentials. Only a perfectly sane person would want these changes. A computer will always expose the stupid mentality of those who are ignorant and has no name!

why only a thousand though? im sure we have more than 1000 patriots (employed and unemployed) who are willing and able to march with you. Also what is the purpose? how does this activity bring change or progress your agenda? you may have more luck with getting signed petitions for your causes as opposed to marching.

Can this guy come up with one original idea? How about finding a way to work with the current government to create jobs for people? I spent one week in Dominica in July – and it blows my mind how the people can afford to live in such an expensive country. Even the basics are not affordable.

How can Dominica continue to survive, much less thrive, with no jobs?
