Vehicle of attorney damaged in Roseau

The vehicle was damaged on Wednesday morning

The vehicle of attorney and Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Dominica, Gerald Burton was damaged in Roseau on Wednesday morning.

Reports are that a window was smashed and tyres slashed.

DNO understands that Burton parked his vehicle close to Gachette’s Jewelry in Roseau and went to his office.

On return around 6:00 am to the vehicle, he noticed the damage.

DNO is following this developing story.

    1. Parked his vehicle by Gachette’s jewelry in Roseau and went to his office. Is his office close to Gachette jewelry?
    2. On return about 6.00 am to the vehicle he noticed the damage. What time did he go to his office, does he normally go to his office before 6.00 am, what time did he go to his office?

All this is as a result of the introduction of dat dangerous element into our politics. But an example will be made of some of them.

I told PM already minimum of 70 years jail for malicious damage and 100 years and or hang for wilful murder.

    Only den it will stop.

AND PM PUT CAMERA ALL OVER PM.

Let see if Lennox will support it.

But wasn’t this same attorneys office vandalized during what PM referred to as a “Coupe” during the peaceful protest of the UWP? If yes has he been compensated by Skerrit or his insurance? Just asking

Very, very MALICIOUS ACT that is the same way they FIRE BOMB gun Emmanuel house on Christmas morning 2010 and some young man came up and testify saying that he was the ARSONIST and they run him from the court
So woe unto those WICKED SCOUNDRELS that thinks that D/ca is theirs and that they have the right to do what they want with peoples properties, and even their lives too.
They burn Elderly’s CAR and their house.

6:00 am is broad daylight in Dominica and many persons are up and about. Therefore there must have been at least one witness to this crime. But with Carbon leading an ineffective police force, except when it comes to deny the opposition it’s constitutional rights, nothing will come out of the investigation. It is my suspicion that Labour Party operatives orchestrated this to muddy the waters and seize the narrative back towards the party after having lost momentum and face after withdrawing the amendments in parliament recently. The fact that this was done to the chairman of the electoral commission, who is a labour party strong supporter,is meant to try and blame the opposition and tarnish it’s image.

Sir, you continue to perform at the top of the idiot class. The report did not say that the incident took place at 6 am, what it said was that Burton observed the damage to his car about 6 am meaning that it was done before 6 am. You continue to make excuses for the criminal elements and at the same time with absolutely no evidence try to blame these criminal activities on the . SHAME ON YOU!!!

I am not condemning this act at all. I know I’ll get lots of blows for saying so but this is what the government of Dominica is encouraging so all those wanting to condemn do so but please go speak to skerritt about his lack of respect for the law and his continued provocation of the populace before it gets out of control.

I hate politics and I will never vote. There are too much mix-up and drama and hatred. politics is dividing the country. Sometimes it could be DLP supporters that are doing this to put UWP into hot water. it could be UWP supporters doing this themselves. But this kind of violence and hatred needs to stop on both sides.

Boss that’s team work! 6am is big broad day and to see something like that happen has me to believe that the person that did it was sure not afraid of police meaning that person might know he has the law on his side. I mean how did the person know Burton would be parking his vehicle there at 6am?

  26. jam jam
    May 31, 2017

seems to me Mr Burton wants to do the right thing. But the powers that be are sending him a message. He dare not speak against the moves of the powers that be. We’ve seen these acts b4, just recently President of the largest union was done the same.

I think the police needs to start an investigation into this…the reckless vandalism of random people’s vehicles in town needs to stop. Over the last few months several people, from different walks of life, have been complaining of such vandalism in and around the vicinity of Roseau.

  30. May 31, 2017

How ever is doing these acts of violence must stop this nonsense. It all goes back to the violent rhetoric being preached by the instigators of civil disobedience and destruction that give rise to such acts against citizens. Is this how we would like our society to become? A lawless and unsafe one? Those who are responsible for instigating people to commit such attrocious acts will one day pay no matter how long it takes because God is no respecter of persons.
