Parliament will convene for the third time today, since the December 18 general elections.
Persons are also anticipating whether the elected members of the United Workers Party (UWP) will boycott the attending this sitting of the House of Assembly for the third consecutive time- a move which has been deemed crucial to their political life.
In fact, if the three elected UWP members, namely Edison James, Hector John and Norris Prevost miss this morning’s Parliament they will pave the way for by-elections in their respective constituencies of Marigot, Salisbury and the Roseau Central.
UWP Leader Ron Green had said they would await an announcement by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit about the date for the next sitting of the House of Assembly before they make another move.
Meantime Government will place three bills on the table for approval.
An Act to amend the proceeds of the Crime Act, Income Tax Act and an Act to require the licensing and regulation of money services business, and to make provisions for relative matters will be placed for approval.
The Crime Bill is seeking to amend the Act to expand the range of offenses from the limited scope of drugs offense, to a wider range of serious offenses committed against the laws of the state and to provide a definition for financial institution under Act.

UWP clearly don’t want to represent their people in Dominica’s Official Parliament, it’s time to kick them out and let Freedom Party be the Official Opposition.
