Where are the men?

Local pastor Randy Rodney is concerned that men who really need guidance and counseling for violent behavior do not feel the need for it.

At a panel discussion on violence held earlier this week , Rodney said that such sessions are  not attended by the intended target group.

“I know I’m gonna get some flack for that but I’m gonna say it anyway. Our society is sick in the core to the point that the people who really need the training don’t get it. And they don’t get it not because it is not made available to them, they don’t get it because they think it’s not for them. So that when you have sections where you train men for example, you look for the men and they’re aren’t there,” he stated.

“Where you have sessions where you train parent, you look for the parents and they are not there. So the target group that you would like to address on issues like this you are never able to get around to them,” he stated.

They wont go to any of these meetings, because they dont think that they have a problem.
It is to easy for them to blame society/back ground/financial situation on the way they behave.

Again the relevant groups are not doing their jobs. Anyone can organise a meeting, and talk nonstop (it gives them an air of authority). They should be out in the various communities
meeting with the very people they claim to want to help. Targeting the more problematic areas, listerning to what is being said. These meetings should be held in village halls, churches etc.

They should also remember that a percentage of these persons are what is termed as middle income/respectable persons and these are likely to be the most difficult group to admit to any faults.

All it takes is one group to change tactics, and the others will follow.

    i totally agree

we all think that the ones who need it the most are the drughaddicts and criminals on the street. how did they become that way in the first place. what was their home like

we also tend to think tht the homes thAt are in need of it are only the homes where the single mother is a prostitute or the father is a drunk.

it is a fact tat violence and abuse happen at an equal rate in christain homes and middle income homes, the ones in which both parents are aroUnd.THE SO CALLED GOOD HOMES.

newsflash, the columbine SHOOTERS and most of the school shooters came from so call GOOD HOMES.
