Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers around the world from the DNO team. We’d thought we’s share a bit of the history of the occasion with our readers.

The majority of countries that celebrate Mother’s Day do so on the second Sunday of May. On this day, it is common for Mothers to be celebrated with presents and special attention from their families, friends and loved ones.

But it wasn’t always this way…

When will we stop celebrating western values, and delved into our historical past on how motherhood was before we were chatteled? lineage , still goes through the mother in all of Africa, so in other words motherhood is celebrated and respected 24 7 all year round. Today with our western thinking and lifestyles ,the commercial day afforded to the mother, is a misconception and utter disrespect to African motherhood. The shopping days before the designated day is only surpassed by christmas on the commercial almanac. Mothers would rather be respected year round, than be given an illusional day.Hotep.

This is DNO , you name every country in the world where they celebrate mother’s day except dominica why? . The woman who invented mother’s day would absolutely hate what it is today . The American incarnation of mother’s day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official US holiday in 1914. Growing up in dominica we never celebrated mother’s day, as kids we did not need any body to tell us when is mother’s day, we loved our mother’s every day . Why do we celebrate every body’s holidays and spend money we don’t have . Today we spend millions , who did we give it to?.
