Bureau of Gender Affairs hosts second annual ‘Sex Week’

In order to cultivate an environment where we can apply critical thinking to concepts surrounding sex and sexuality, the second annual “Sex Week” will focus on both intersecting identities as well as radically educating and re-educating persons on sex.

The Bureau of Gender Affairs is once again collaborating with its most committed partners to commemorate the observance by hosting Sex Week from April 24 – 28, 2017.

The main activity for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, is a week of educational events designed to share knowledge on personal health, sexuality, but also skills in communication and how to negotiate healthy relationships and friendships. It is being held under the theme “Engaging new voices.”

“This year we have seen a number of new faces joining in the conversations of gender-based violence and sexual health in Dominica. We are excited to partner with new, fresh voices to continue the conversations during Sex Week with the most at risk parties, most importantly our youth and victims of gender-based violence,” said Melissa Morgan, Coordinator of Research and Program Development.

Sex Week 2017 kicks off with a sexual health fair dubbed “If Walls Could Talk” at the Dominica State College. The health fair will promote awareness on sexual violence and sexuality and reproductive health seeks to encourage youth to promote a culture of respect and dignity for all.

Sex Week would not have been possible without the dedicated work of The National Youth Council, Dominica Planned Parenthood, National HIV/AIDS Response Program, Dominica Planned Parenthood and Lévé Domnik.

A complete schedule is attached to this press release. On behalf of the planning committee, we extend an invitation to you and look forward to your participation.

If you have any questions about Sex Week, feel free to contact The Bureau of Gender Affairs at 767-266-3344 or [email protected].

My friend is gay and adores anal sex. He wants his human right in Dominica to bugger his boyfriend. Can BGA help?

By the way: ”SEX WEEK” in numerology is 666 x 2. The duality soon to be merged into one?

Have you guys ever heard of a man called Jesus Christ? I suggest you check him out and give your master, Lucifer, the finger.

    • This man you call Jesus Christ is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.

He is the Son of the living God. Those who know Him know He is God manifested in the flesh. He is the God Man. The great Creator became my Savior and all God*s fullness dwelt in Him.

Why is it I want to shout and praise Him when I speak or write these things about Him :?: It is because He dwells in me, and the Holy Spirit is constantly revealing Him to me!

      Have you encountered Him :?:

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

I am pleased that the Bureau of Gender Affairs is cultivating an environment where we can apply critical thinking to concepts surrounding sex and sexuality. I agree with “Fish”, first and foremost we need to break the taboos surrounding the word sex.

In the past we have concentrated on protecting the victim and prosecuting the perpetrator. This has not, and will not, stop the abuse of sex. The sexual impulse is the most powerful force in all living creatures: if it were not, we would not be here!

We need to better understand that basic instinct in order to eliminate sexual lust and restore the beauty of sexual love.

    • We will realize that sex is beautiful when we understand it belongs in marriage and can only be properly enjoyed in a loving committed marriage relationship. Outside of a Biblical one man with one woman until death do part marriage it is a sin the Bible calls *fornication* or *adultery* which is one of several types of fornication.

All we need to know about sex is found in the Bible, the word of God. Read Matthew 19:4-9, Romans 1:26,27, 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, etc. Our governments would act accordingly by giving us appropriate laws if they had any concern about the spread of STD including HIV, single mothers, one parent homes, and the burden these things lay on tax payers. Let them mandate that God*s moral code be taught in the homes, schools, and churches of the nation. What we do not need is amoral secular education that teaches people how to break the laws of God without suffering the consequences because that is not working anywhere.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

      • People who love their nation and care about the next generation are concerned by the knowledge that the government could turn certain things around but simply refuses to get involved.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

I hope the perverted homosexual agenda doesn’t have a covert ‘educational’ presentation hidden within the schedule of activities.

Shouldn’t it be sexual awareness week? whats with the name what are they trying to do defeat the purpose?

    • April 24, 2017

Sex Week is apt! Why do you want to downplay the word sex? Break the taboos surrounding the word SEX!

    • April 24, 2017

Homosexual activists watch for every opportunity to promote their agenda within the educational system.

Here in Ontario (Canada) a sex curriculum is being forced on the schools making it mandatory to teach homosexuality as an acceptable alternative lifestyle along with trans sexuality. Included in this is amoral teaching on masturbation, oral and anal sex. This curriculum was created by a lesbian and a convicted sex offender. Even private (Catholic) schools are being forced to teach it.

Some parents have taken their kids out of the public schools and are home schooling them. The increased sex education in the schools is creating an unhealthy obsession with sex. This is a subject that could better be dealt with in religious education classes, and in during scripture studies.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
