PRESS RELEASE: The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) in collaboration with ‘Astaphans’ Right Place, Right Price’ is set to host Dominica’s 2nd Annual Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday May 22nd from 10am-6pm.
This showcase of Dominica’s Health and Wellness industry will take place in tented arenas on the grounds of University of West Indies open campus. The event will feature a grand exhibition of locally available Health & Wellness services and products, a program of interactive classes and workshops, an ital foods bar and steel pan music. Entrance is free of charge.
The Health and Wellness Expo is part of the Discover Dominica Tourism Awareness Month program and will be opened by the Minister of Health, Hon Julius Timothy and Marcia Baptiste – Dominica’s Carnival Queen and Miss Caribbean World 2010. Ms Baptiste will also be the MC for the day, introducing the attendees to each workshop.
The class timetable is as follows:
11am – 11:45am: Dance your way to Joy and Bliss – Charity Joy
12pm – 1:00pm: CARIBBEAN RAW FOODS DEMO – CHANTEL SELMAN from ORGANIC EARTH HEALTH STORE, BARBADOS
1pm – 2:00pm: Lunch Break – Music by Phase Five Steel Pan
2pm – 2:45pm: Spinal Health: Your Responsibility for Wellness – Dr Janet Taylor:

3pm – 3:45pm: A Journey into Yoga – Trudy Scott Prevost: Rainbow Yoga

5:15pm – 6pm: Martial Arts Demonstration – Purple Dragon Dojo
Over twenty-five exhibitors will be showcasing their services, offering free demonstrations, and selling natural health products and foods.
A raffle prize giveaway is also an exciting part of the event with a host of special health and wellness prizes to be won including: massages, private yoga classes, gym memberships, lunch for two at Papillote Wilderness Retreat and healthy food treats and more. The first 50 people through the door will receive their raffle ticket free.
