Dominica’s health sector has received a boost with the addition of 75 new nurses who were officially pinned at a ceremony at the Arawak House of Culture last night.
Renowned family nurse practitioner Hyacinth Thomas told the new nurses that they should embrace the opportunity for self enhancement.
“The opportunities are out there. The government offers scholarships, take advantage and make full use of it. The nurse must continue to get herself knowledgeable in order to stay current with the changes in the health care system. He or she must not only learn the technical skills expected of him or her but is expected to relate to a wide variety of patients in the environment charged with the tribulations of violence, drugs, disaster, HIV/AIDS and cancers,” the senior nurse advised.
Congrats to all our new nurses. Thank you nurse Hyacinth for encouraging these newly pinned nurses to take advantage of the opportunities available to them .Nurses its not just a job anymore. The more knowledgeable you are, better for you, our society and country as a whole. Education is never to much.
Congratulations to the graduating nurses and their families. Also congratulations to the Government for training so many nurses in one batch. What is more is that all of them are fully employed since the Government has created additional positions for 150 staff nurses, 100 teachers and 50 graduate teachers.
All these efforts will assist in reducing um employment.
Congratulations all.
Addition of 75 new nurses. Congratulations,
However they are not all gonna be employed so that number should be less.
Nurse Hyacinth is certainly the most reputable Nurse in Dominica. Her character exhibits the nature to follow for all the nurses who have graduated.
