World Blood Donor Day will be observed Tuesday, June 14 with the theme “More blood, More life.”
The theme reinforces the urgent need for more people to become life-savers by volunteering to donate blood. The Dominica Red Cross – Club 25 Driven Youth Group in collaboration with the Princess Margaret Hospital Blood Lab would like to raise awareness of the need for a safe blood supply and to thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood; it is to these unsung heroes that World Blood Donor Day is dedicated.
On this Blood Donor Day we invite members of the public to support our Voluntary Blood Recruitment Drive on Tuesday, 14 June, 2011 at the Dominica Red Cross Headquarters, Goodwill, between the hours of 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.
Recruitment activities include mini screening, blood grouping and haemoglobin level as a prerequisite to blood donation.
Join an elite group of persons committed to giving blood when the need arises – Can we count on you? ‘Find the Volunteer inside you’.
