Men in Dominica are being asked to take their health more seriously.
That’s the appeal being made by Health Coordinator Priscilla Prevost who is making final preparations for the staging of a Men’s Health Forum this weekend.
Prevost said society should take some of the blame for men’s attitudes towards their health.
“From the men’s perspective, one of the things is that they are socialized in a particular, different way from women and they believe that they should always take control and be in charge. If a man is sick or unable to perform in whatever way, they usually don’t take the time out to care for themselves. Instead they think that the pain will automatically just go away,” she said.
Additionally, Prevost said health clinics don’t cater for men.
Does anyone know of a doctor in dominica a man can go to get a good check-up? (Not one that will just ask you a few questions, and assume what could be the problem)
Thanks
Dr. Irvin McIntyre!!!!!!!!
My brothers many of us get sick and refused to go to the doctor.Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the caribbean,a simple test is all thats needed. Please take that concept of your minds that all will be ok,get tested it will save your life.
The men on the Plantation really need to take care of their health.
They need to exercise, stop smoking, don’t drink alcohol, stay away
from the nasty KFC chicken and those junky foot Long subways.
Eat all natural foods and drink plenty of water like the
maroons of Morne au Diable. Also stay away from those drugs from the
Pharmacies
