Rotary Club’s fourth hearing mission

The Rotary Club of Dominica is collaborating once again with the Centers for Hearing Care and members of the Rotary Club of Boardman, Ohio to host its 4th annual Hearing Mission across the country. The mission will be held from Monday March 23 to Wednesday March 25, 2015.

Audiologists from the Centers of Hearing Care and members of the Rotary Club of Boardman, Ohio will arrive in Dominica on Sunday March 22 and will be on island for a period of five (5) days.

The Hearing Mission, which has been a success over the past few years, focuses on impaired hearing spanning partial of total loss of hearing.

This year, hearing clinics will be held at the following health centres, dates and times:
Monday March 23 8:00 am – 3pm Wesley Health Centre
Monday March 23 8:00 am – 3pm Salybia Health Centre
Tuesday March 24 8:00 am – 1pm Portsmouth Health Centre
Tuesday March 24 2:30 pm – 5pm St. Joseph Health Centre
Wednesday March 25 8:00 am – 12Noon Roseau Health Centre

Patrons are advised that they must receive a referral from their Health Team so as to gain admission to the hearing clinics.

The Hearing Mission will be under the leadership of Dr. Sheryl Figliano, who is the President and Owner of the Centers for Hearing Care.

A lunch meeting will also be held for the team on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Fort Young Hotel. Senior Health Officials are expected to be in attendance.

The project, which started 3 years ago, has been able to provide care to a total of 743 patients with 329 hearing aids fitted and has transformed the lives of many Dominicans with some persons hearing for the very first time in their lives.

    I would be very important to cover the grandbay area,because a very large number of aged people live there,,grandbay should cover ,font st.jean, pitchlin,grandbay,bellevue,petite savane, bagatelle ,,,these communities are a bit isolated from the town,,many elderly are above 90 years old and needs hearing aid…
