Dominican-born, Atlanta-based musician, Heston Francis, known professionally as Heston, has achieved a milestone in his music career, giving Dominicans one more reason to be proud.
invites his listeners to enter his most intimate spaces and thoughts. With his polished voice, passion for delivering stellar music, and loyal and growing fan base, Heston is poised to make a legendary impact on the music world.”
In the article, he is described as a perfectionist who defines his journey as a full-time musician, composer, songwriter and producer.
“Heston lives and loves great music. His music is accompanied by a full band with foundational rhythms that stem back to his island roots, comprised of percussions, horns, acoustic and electric guitars, leaving audiences captivated,” the article states.
This Soulful Gentleman has “mesmerized” his audiences all over the world, including Paris, London and Tokyo, where he has just returned from sold out performances. He is now set to visit Australia for The Love Junkie Tour, in February 2014.
“Creating timeless music has always been my ultimate goal,” says Heston with a poised, yet humble demeanor. “I want to leave the world with music that can be played for a lifetime.”
As the UK Soul Charts have indicated, this is a well written and produced album and has something for everyone. Production by Dj Kemit, with dance and steppers grooves like, To the Sky and Resign to You. Production was done by talented and highly sought after producer, Darren Daz I-Que Benjamin, with love ballads, such as the title track, Love Junkie, and second single, Dreaming, which Heston’s Fans have come to know and love.
“Influences of roots reggae are peppered throughout the Album – most evident in cuts like, Come Away With Me and Our Father – produced collectively by The Swatt Band and gifted producer and Bassist, Ryan Wilson – pulling songs out of Heston, that have bubbled inside this talented singer songwriter from his early days growing up in Dominica, and being influenced by the best that reggae had to offer,” the exposé about this soulful singer concludes.
And now he’s coming back to his homeland this month, to perform for his Dominican fans and fellowmen in two shows – on December 7 at the Q95 Christmas Cheers & Awards Show and Sunday December 8, Love Junkies, Down by the River… at Riverstone Bar & Grill, in Belles.
Below is a video of Heston performing one of his earlier releases, My Kinda Lady.
Cool video. Congrats bro!
It was rather interesting to see how the young lady work up from bed so well made up.
I am in LOVE with this album, I’ve had it for sometime now and I have it on repeat. I love his voice and style, kinda reminds me of Maxwell. I will be purchasing your other albums, supporting local all the way.

Wow!! Lovely music…reminds me of Maxwell….
congratulations.good vibes in these times.that’s music from the soul.
Number one on the UK soul chart but did not see it at HMV music shop
I just love it.. Support Dominica, support local artists, not only those who live in the diaspora..Are we kind to those who live right here? Food for thought
Congratulations and thanks for representing us all.
Me like me like PLENTY…..”He could mesmerize an audience from start to finish…..good job…
Finally a Dominican with a unique voice.
Very very Refreshing, love it. It’s unique too, using a woman that has darker skin tone than the artist in a video of that calibre is deffinitely Refreshing. Yeah!
@ Annon
What a senseless comment. Black women come in all shades of black, and no one shade is superior over the other. I am sure the lighter shade black woman will not find your comment refreshing at all.
I get the point made, don’t take bad, I am lighter toned myself, I love them all and find it refreshing too. trend by video producers is obvious (we must admit)especially in the US. Not many videos (besides African producers)feature the woman of interest darker toned than the artist.
Very good point
cool bro, nice work,it’s interesting what the professional world can do to talented people, what i am trying to say is,our local artist here got to move on out there, where things can happen for them, dominica got a whole lot of local talent that need exposure and expantion, but staying home is’nt helping,a rolling stone gathers no moss.
Hats off Bro, Excellent Production…
Hope this makes the Boyou folks in Dominica Understand to break barriers musical on the global Scene you must material that is up to stand in Terms or how songs are being constructed and Arranged in terms of lyrics and music..
The Boyou or the earlier era was much more Appealing across the board, than the throw away Lyrics been done by Boyou groups and artist in Dominica..
That’s what made JA International as Bob lead the Way and the others followed along..
Music is Class at all levels, not a hustle Aggressive mood which exist in Dominica today!
Dominicans are powerful….just too much negativity.
keep up the high standards you make all Dominicans and Caribbean people proud. Love such news.

Fantastic young fella! Your Dad Eustace loved music and dance. On several occasions he hired our band Mantra in the 70s to play at his private parties. He was especially attracted to the bass guitar which I played Jimmy Hendricks style. So I do understand where you got your soulful vibes from. Wishing you fine health always so you can continue to produce lot’s more great music. You make us all proud.
Jimmy Hendrix played bass guitar aswell?
Are you the legendary Synki Rabess?
