Hilton Tranquility Beach Resort and Spa to open its doors in 2025

The Hilton Tranquility Beach Resort and Spa located in Salisbury is expected to open its doors for business sometime next year, before the staging of the 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).

This was according to Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton who was speaking during a  recent site visit along with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and other cabinet ministers to the Hilton Tranquility Beach Resort and Spa, to observe the progress of construction on the authorized Citizenship By Investment (CBI) project.

Tranquility when completed will add 101 rooms to Dominica’s hotel stock, 8 villas, 48 suites, a penthouse, 29 tree houses, Spa, Additional features to include a gym, fine dining restaurant, wellness centre, gift shop, tennis courts and private cabanas.

“Some people may say it is late, but it is here now and so, this is where the CBI monies is being spent,” she said. “I know there have been talks, what has happened to the CBI funds, but I can tell Dominicans to take a drive down to Salisbury and arrange a visit at the Hilton Tranquility Resort and you are going to be truly blown away, because this resort is truly unique in its design.”

Charles-Pemberton continued, “We have conference facilities that can seat up to 200 people, the accommodation is different and people all over the world, especially people with money, are looking for unique and authentic experiences and I believe this resort provides that.”

She spoke of the resort’s spectacular views and mentioned looking forward to the completion of this property.

“That is really going to add a different flavour and a different flair to what the country offers to visitors” Charles-Pemberton stated. “My hope is that we can open this property next year, before Creole Festival…”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Skerrit said the six-star resort will create employment for many Dominicans.

“This is what we have been trying to use the CBI funds for, to finance sustainable projects and thereby create sustainable jobs,” he noted. “This hotel is going to create sustainable jobs and create permanent jobs for a lot of Dominicans at various levels and [skillsets]”

Furthermore, he mentioned that his government is absolutely committed to ensuring that this project comes to a successful completion and that Dominicans can benefit from its operations, “and we are very confident that if we have gotten thus far there is no reason why we cannot get to the other 20 percent and go across the mountain and build on top of the mountain.”

He went on to state that there will be about 100 people permanently employed at the resort.

“And from a government standpoint this is where you will be getting more sustainable revenues,” he revealed. “Because more people come in, more consumption, more consumption means more VAT revenue and more VAT revenue means we can take care of ourselves much better than we are able to do now.”

He added, “We look forward to continuing working with Ian Edwards and Tranquility to ensure its successful completion.”

Reading some of those convoluted and quirky responses has me believing that critical thinking is on the brink of extinction.

Knee jerk caustic reactions continue to taint DNO’s well intentioned mission to enlighten and inform.

I am all for legitimate dissent; however, a lot of posts here have taken on a helter skelter aura leaving me to wonder if DNO can return its early days where civility reigned for the most part while we cordially agreed to disagree.

Mr.Lil clown all the social programmes are paid for from CBI funds. The Marigot hospital was built with CBI funds.Jungle Bay 140 employed.CBI is not only about free houses,it is also about using CBI funds to make life better for Dominicans.UWP had their version of CBI,the reengineered Citicizenship programme in which they collected hundreds of millions of dollars with that kind of money, they did nothing for the ordinary Dominican. It was a money for the boys reengineered Citicizenship programme. That is why UWP cannot and will not win another election in Dominica. The Dominican people kicked out UWP because of corruption, victimization, greed and lies.

So in reality to build was hotels and not free houses for people, I’m I right about that? I must ask this question because I’m confused. Everything you say is confusing anyway. And oh! Will they be serving Sushi and chicken Chow Mien at this Hotel?

This is an exciting project for persons on the west coast, especially from Senjoe to Coulibistrie. It means more jobs and more opportunities for the farmers and fisherfolks in the vicinity. Bravo!!

Having a villa and believing in straight lines and edges on a beach does not translate to design for different terrains.
I was an architectural design major and had to pick a second major when applying to school my interest in geopolitics became my first major.

Hopefully based on my school #6 in the world and standing internationally I know I will Suceed and achieve. GO HUSKIES! GO DAWGS. #UW #HUSKIES. #WOOF #PURPLEandGOLD

Great you all are opening. I dont think that these people are concerned about anything. I studied Architural Engineering Drafting and received my certificate in Building Information Modelling – REVIT. During COVID I watched that Anou Parlay and I tried contacting these people in the early phase.to look at the ROCK FORMATION from the sea it appeared that the rock was.folding on an S-pattern. No one responded. I was even trying to ask around on the campus -as I am attending a school involved in MAJOR reseaech in the area of volcanoes etc around the world.

Dominica NEVER fat on me. I was even thinking ot an added design to enhance this project to stablize the land itself investors funds.

Now I am seeing the rock has collapsed and deliberate or nature – the pattern even th

Of the.fall has a semblance.of what I.saw is still there. I do think that this place is topography is looked at again.

    It is still concerning.

There is never a good word of encouragement coming from you ******. Always with the intension of telling others what to do and to discourage. Show some respect and stop the negativity. Typical UWPite .

How will people get there when there is no airport. Even if I have money getting to Dominica is a vacation on its own. By tye time I arrive it will be time to leave. invest in the people instead. Teach our people customer relations, work ethics and moral behaviour.
