Recently Dominican Austin R. Lazarus was featured in a Caribbean Tech incubator video series of Top 100 Caribbean Innovators.
He is an app developer.
In 2014, he attended the Digital Jam 3.0 app competition in Jamaica where he was exposed to Tech Startups and the culture of building digital products as real Businesses.
This in part inspired him to continue on my journey as a Techpreneur (Technical Entrepreneur). From then he has participated in a few other events and collaborated with like-minded individuals across the region to build apps.
The most recent was the NCB innovative challenge where his team (Georgia Crawford – Jamaican and myself) became the runner up for a project called Mekup. Mekup is a SMS-based micro loan pre-approval platform.
His current project is BudgEat || www.budgeat.co ||
“This is an application which provides a suite of products and services that enable individuals in select areas to find great Cuisine on a Budget,” he explained. “Also it allows businesses like restaurants to reach more customers by expediting their rewards program with digital punch cards and pre-ordering services.”
See video below.
