Shillingford won two rounds in the competition

After winning two competitive rounds, back to back, Dominican, Kimberly Barry Shillingford lost her final battle for the grand prize Sunday evening in the All Mixed Up cooking competition show, held at the Art Institutes of America, Fort Lauderdale.

This culinary arts competition will be featured in four episodes of the All Mixed Up National Television series which will air next June on Lifetime Television

Shillingford said, “I must start by thanking the Lord for giving me this amazing opportunity to take part in a cooking show. Although I lost the final battle I feel like am a winner. The competition started out with around 20 young adults like myself. Following interviews, it went down to six. The six remaining competitors including myself were then placed into two groups. The first group becoming Team blue and the second group the grey team. Each team then competed among themselves for first place.”

All Mixed up is a cooking show and a game. It entails cooking a dish in a small amount of time with unknown supplies and constant surprises and obstacles. For example, during the show competitors, at one time, had to cook alligator and were regularly required to finish cooking other competitors’ dishes.

“Winning the first two rounds was amazing but not easy,” Shillingford stated. “All Mixed Up was without question one of the most physically and emotionally torturous experiences of my life. The more they came at me the stronger I became before losing the final. At one point they tied my right hand against a fellow competitor and then took away all knives. I was given a disposal plastic knife to continue preparing my dishes.”

She added, “The last obstacle threw me off big time. I think that’s where I lost focus and time was ticking so fast. I knew while plating my final dish that this was not the best of me, but giving up was not near to my thinking. I had fun and I learnt a lot. The judges loved my food up to the final round. This was an amazing experience for me. I always told my friends that one day I will be on a cooking show. That one day really came. I am so excited and cannot wait for the show to be aired on Lifetime Television.”

Shillingford concluded, “My journey has not ended my future is going to be great. To all the young kids out there never give up on your talent or dream. Make the best out of all opportunities. Remember put God first in everything you do. To my husband, my family, my mother-in-law and friends who supported me through this journey thank you. You guys keep me motivated.”

Congratulations on also attaining this far. You almost won first prize. Keep it up. Someday you could also have your own cooking – culinary show.
Participating in those shows could be hectic and nerve-racking
Occasionally I view cooking shows. They could be captivating. One could also learn some cooking tips and tricks from them.
The saying, “If at first you do not succeed, try again” and keep trying. Persistence and perseverance are keys and you do possess them.
Probably someday you could also write a recipe book or more. :)
Good luck for future shows or whatever future endeavors.
    God bless!

You made me laugh. Assuming you are a man (these days one never knows. ), you must learn to cook. If you wish, check out recipe Websites or get some pointers from relatives and friends who can cook well. You may become a gourmet cook.
