Dominican gets prestigious business recognition in US

Certified Professional Bridal Consultant (2009), Justina Vernaline John, daughter of deceased Vernice and Shaden John, has been selected by the Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide as Professional of the Year 2016 and Professional of the Year 2017 in the field of Event Planning/Bridal Events.

Earlier this year, she was also honored as Woman of Excellence 2016. Acceptance is granted to individuals who have exemplified leadership and achievement in their occupation, industry or profession.

John hails from St. Joseph and is now resident in New York. She attended the Convent High School and the Institute of Personnel Management.

In 1982 she was featured in Who’s Who in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management USA.

John started making bridal bouquets and wedding cakes in the early 1980’s, when she planned her first wedding which included decorating and coordinating.

She became a Wedding Planner and formed the company, Tanbria Productions, in 2000. She has since managed and coordinated both destination and local weddings. As part of the services offered, she counsels brides and party members as required.

With over 16 years’ experience John is responsible for event planning, targeting bridal events. She specializes in bridal bouquets, wedding cakes, booklets, catering, cake tops, ring pillows, veils, coordinating weddings, designing and producing of bridal gowns.

Additionally, John writes children’s books, business books, poetry and composes songs. A published poet and winner of many Dominica Independence Creole and English poetry competitions, she has also been honored with International Poetry Publisher’s Choice Award 2000, International Poet of Merit 2000, Outstanding Achievement in Poetry 2006, and featured in Best Poems and Poets of 2004 and International Who’s Who in Poetry 2007.

She has also received the “Senjo Reunion Award for Excellence” in the Field of Literature.
