Dominican, Arthlene Laudat LeGair, is to be one of 14 featured stories in an upcoming book in the US entitled “A Heroine in Heels.”

Born in the community of Coulibstrie to Catherine and Alphonso Laudat, she is an award-winning international high fashion celebrity designer, public motivational speaker, mentor, author, celebrity wardrobe stylist and philanthropist.

She attended the Coulibistrie Government School and only went to the Community High School for less than a year. One of the reasons she wants to share her story is to encourage young people to reach for their dream.

“A Heroine on Heels” will be released on May 1.

Currently LeGair is the CEO of LeGair Brand Company located in Atlanta, Georgia and Head designer/Instructor at The LeGair Brand Luxury Boutique/ Fashion & Sewing School.

She is widely noted for her Couture dress made up of over 600 peacock feathers valued at over $10,000.00, which was featured in African Vibes magazine, Sparks magazine in England and was presented in her collection at the African Vibes magazine fashion show in Los Angeles California in 2010 and Couture Fashion Week New York at the famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

She is also a published author, her book “Where my help comes from” is available at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com and other locations in the USA and London.

She is now working on her second and third book, scheduled to be released this year.

After less than a year of owning and operating The LeGair’s House of Fashion Boutique in North Miami Beach, Florida, a dramatic life event relocated her and her children to Ohio.

It was there that LeGair received the impetus to further her education. She earned an Associate degree in Business Entrepreneurship at Columbus State College in September 2011 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management at The Columbia Southern University. She used the skills she learned there to build Legair Brand Fashion Legacy.

She is very dedicated to the welfare of young women, giving the fact it was her concern for her daughter that started her journey in the fashion industry. She spend her time sharing her story of being a survivor of verbal abuse and empowering women to reach for their dreams, she has been guest speaker at the Agnes Scott College for Truth in Chaos, The Still Standing Foundation Domestic Violence Awareness Event that honors survivors of Domestic Violence, Speaker at the Women retreat in Ohio 2014 and presenter at the 9th Annual Aqua Salon & Day spa – Support The Fight Against Breast Cancer.

Her designs, which boast a mixture of Couture gowns, European styles and African textiles, were birthed out of her keen observations of the world around her.

Completely self-taught, LeGair was inspired by the staunch resolve of her mother who would sew their family’s clothes to save money. Growing up in a developing nation without access to the finer things in life, Legair cultivated a determination that money couldn’t buy. She would use it to propel her toward success in the fashion industry years later.

To God be all the glory and for His continued favour upon your life my sister. When it seems that life gets the worse of you , it only gets better. You have always been someone who drives yourself to acheive what you want.. You don’t know what it is to give up, and I applaud you for always wanting to excel. Your determination and hard work will go along way to bringing you to your destination. Continue to make our family, Coulibistrie and Dominica proud. You are one in a million. God bless you.

She is not only talented, she is as busy as ever. This takes hard work, determination and perseverance. She is also one to be admired and complimented for her achievements.
It seems a lot for one person. Generally, to reach this height of success, people usually have good contacts who assisted them and continue to do so. Just inquiring, from the beginning did you have some good contacts as also a manager or public relations person who helped you in this regard?
I wish you continued success. In the meantime, take good care of your health.
    God bless you!
