Man baffles Campbell residents

The man with a load of marijuana plants
The man with a load of marijuana plants

A strange occurrence took place in Campbell on Thursday morning when a man, who some say is of unsound mind, turned up at the bus stop with a load of freshly uprooted marijuana trees on his shoulder.

An eyewitness told Dominica News Online that residents of the area stood with their mouths open in astonishment as the man proceeded to dump the load at the bus stop and said he had more to fetch.

The man ended making 20 trips, the eyewitness said, stacking all the marijuana plants in the bus stop.

As if that was not enough, he told on lookers that he has a total of 21 trips to make.

The eyewitness could not say how many marijuana plants were brought to the bus stop but said “it was quite a lot.”

The police were eventually called, according to the eye witness.

Another resident who spoke to DNO said the man is known to do a lot of strange things in the area but the fact that he found all those marijuana plants has everyone baffled.

The Campbell resident said the man was recently released from police custody.

the young people who want to do that will do that. marijuana doesnt make a man lazy. only makes a lazy man lazier. the children themselves have no ambition and prefer to sit around and smoke all day. trust me would love to do the same but i have bills to pay and responsibilites to take care off. but nothing is wrong with weed. you would be surprised who in this world smokes regularly and their contributions to mankind and works performed. jah guide. your propaganda is of days of old.

    legalizing mary jane 8)

ian douglas tourism minister would see real profits in the tourist industry. tourist season would be year round.

reduce the amount of money government would spend on keeping young people in prison

a reduction in cannabis related crimes(no conflict because of availablity)

i would smoke it on de leblanc highway while crusing in my little jeep. bankers, lawyer, judges, PM, Doctors would smoke it.

OH, the sweet arroma would run insects to the mountains…lol

we could have a ganja growers association and export market for medicinal use.

LEGALIZE IT, we have to use what we have to get what we want.

Great point, within 10-15 years Marijuana will be legal everywhere else in the world. The US has already legalized it in two states and it’s legal for medicinal use in another 20 or so. The world is finally waking up to the fact that marijuana is not dangerous, it’s not addictive and in fact it has many medicinal properties. If your wonderful island legalized marijuana and promoted the island as pot friendly it would increase your tourism revenues significantly and make the island a cultural touchstone, an example that others can follow. Think about how much money can be generated!!!

Legalize the weed, just legalize it. It’s not even buds, it’s all leaves he has there. Either way it needs to be legalized. Just look at the types of things some people choose to want to legalize in D/a. What a shame.

That’s a funny story with so many intriguing sides to it!

I think the man need to be examined.

The police, well the police will be the police. I offer no advice to them.

However, just recently I was reading and watching videos on Prostate cancer and so on because my father was recently diagnosed.
Many interesting views and testimonials of cancer survivors has since surfaced.
One was that Marijuana cures prostate cancer.

It is important for one needs to change his lifestyle, particularly so, his diet. He needs to eat a more alkaline diet (vegetarian), drink lots of water, exercise…

The diet includes drinking lots of vege juices, seeds, nuts etc. It is important that he eats his food in its rawest state.

Anyway, back to the marijuana story.
Scientists have found 2 receptors: cb1 mainly in the brain but all over the body and cb2 in cells in the immune system
These receptors are all over our body, in our brain, liver, heart, kidney…

The CB1 receptor which is highly concentrated in our brain

Receptors can be described as locks on the surface of a cell. And when the correct key combines with the perfect lock it opens the door and delivers messages.

Sometimes it tells the body there is an invader and the immune system must attack
Scientists have found 2 receptors: cb1 mainly in the brain but all over the body and cb2 in cells in the immune system

CB1 receptor acts like a target for the canabanoids and once they bind it tells the cancer cells to die. The cancer cells commit suicide.

Marijuana Exodus 30:23 if you want to go religious’
There is also proof of it being used in the temples by priests…

    THC is the perfect MATCH!
It heals CANCER, DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE…

It would have beeen nice to receive some of that fresh herb to juice and serve to my father

THERE ARE VERY POSITIVE HEALTH IMPACTS OF THAT PLANT.

He himself raps his Marijuana in the raper and smoke happily away right in the open. I call the police stations everytime i see this happennign and nothing is done about it even if they say that they are coming. What bothers me the most is that as soon as he is done smoking he goes to work to harasse the visitors/ business people who visits the Bayfront on a daily basis. Strange things do happen and will always happen, when we least expect. Life is also full of surprises. This is funny and worth a good laugh but it is serious. Where did he get those marijuana plants? Did he cut them himself?
What is in his mind and what is his intention for placing them at the bus stop? Did he plan to take the bus and place them on it, to probably go to Roseau to sell them? What happened after he brought the 21st plant? What did he do from thereon? Many questions and unanswered ones. Big job he got for himself, to and from and back and forth. Without pay?
He knows how to count; 21 of them? I wonder what is next. Will he return to get them and then find out they are not where he placed them? Oh boy! Should this happen, all hell may break loose.
The police should have followed him to see where he came from with those plants. Those marijuana plants could make a good bonfire. I hope this is what the police will do with them. God help and protect the people of Campbell.

Those people bailing him are even more wicked! Not even letting him pay for his actions! Too many times “he mad” or “he sick” is used as an excuse! Who will suffer the expenses incurred? He is free and living like any normal person and is aware of his actions! But that’s the country we live in… Our judicial system good to throw!

That is scary and people sometimes see clearly in 20/20 hindsight. A man was brutally murdered in Castle Bruce by a young mand who was in and out of jail who the villagers regularly complained about to the police. it had to take him committed murder for something to be done. hope that wont be the case in Campbell.

    • Justice and Truth
      June 20, 2013

He should be kept at the mental facility and given medication to calm him. If he burnt a house, he is capable of doing worse. I hope he does no vicious harm to others, as injury and murder.

    • June 21, 2013

What actions should that man pay for, exposing marijuana? I think that the villagers are fearful of many people aside from this man. If he burnt a house he should pay for that. Remember every action has consequences. People are bailed for murder. If you or your family member get bail for whatever reason, would they also be considered wicked? Have he gone to court for burning down the house? He will pay for that, one way or the other. Without a psychological evaluation one cannot determine the mental stability of another; however, you are right, insanity plays a big part as an excuse and in cases where insanity should play a role, most often it is not. If those who should see to it that insane people should not be living among the sane are not doing what they are supposed to do to separate same, then we are in big trouble. You are also right, some people pretend to be insane when they are not. We are unable to make that determination, and maybe those who can do not bother. You know the judicial system has nothing to do with that. This is a law that should be re-written, do you not agree?

In the book which I have, he mentioned about “Toxins” in the body and that at least once a month we should cleanse our body/intestines. He stated that the majority of illnesses (if not all) are caused due to toxins in the body. It is a health book of natural cures that I would recommend. If you can, try to get that book.

Every country has its share of crazy/mad people. I see some of them, man and woman, talking to themselves. When I do I pretend that I do not see them. I do not look at them. If my eyes happen to fall on them momentarily, I shift my eyes. They are bold enough to come up to people and try to talk to them. There are times they shout out loud on the streets.
Some are quiet and one would never know if they suffer from a mental problem. Some of them have viciously attacked people where they reside and also murder them. There are some who run away from the mental home.
Wherever we reside and travel to we just have to pray to God for his divine protection, something we should do daily and never cease doing.
