So far the search for a missing woman of Portsmouth has been unsuccessful.
Marette Baptiste was last seen on January 20 and her father, Marley Baptiste, told DNO on Friday morning efforts to locate her will continue.
“So far the search has been unsuccessful but we are not giving up,” he said. “We are continuing to search for her and hoping and praying that she is safe.”
On Thursday a search effort, involving the police, the Cadet Corp and family members, was mounted on Segment 11 of the Waitukubuli National Trail, near where she was last seen.
“This morning we are meeting with the Portsmouth Police to set up a team to continue the search,” Baptiste said.
He revealed that he plans on attaching a PA-System on his vehicle “to make some announcements.”
Marette was last seen on January 20 at around 5:30 pm walking from One Mile to Bourne.
She was last seen wearing a brown top, white three-quarter pants with her hair tied in a bun with a brown head-tie.
Anyone with information should call the Portsmouth Police Station at 445-5222; Nenette Daniel-Baptiste at 245-4721, her father Marley Baptiste at 276-2571 or Carlyn Rolle at 225-5707.
We will find you where ever you are ……. We will not stop looking for you until you are home sweetie.
Another missing person in Dominica that is just too many it’s a sad situation/ story for any family to experience
Very heartbreaking. I knew Marette. I hope that she is found soon and is brought home safely. I am just so confused with this news.
How sad! I do hope she is safe while I continue to pray for her safe return and for the family. However, although I do not know anything about her, I can assure you that even if I did, I would have to think hard before giving any information to the police less I be treated like that man that confessed that Seko thing and the way he was treated on radio by some of our top legal minds, politicians and police big boys. Furthermore the result of that Seco thing ended, does not encourage me to trust the present system.
i really do hope and pray that she gets found. this is a wonderful former teacher from the sda secondary school and is loved by many!
i too must say tht if i was any cloer to this area where the searches are being conducted i too would be one of those to help! i love you miss baptiste!
I hate to hear such of a report like this. Lord I hope and pray that all goes well and give the family some relief.
