Timeline: Ambassador Palmer’s predecessor, responding to a photo of our Dear Leader and the Leader of Venezuela in a local newspaper, circa 2007 described it to the effect that a man is known by the company he keeps. The Member for Mahaut made headline news by characterizing the Ambassador’s comments as “dumb.”

Fast forward a few years to the photo of our Dear Leader and the US Ambassador in our “non-oval office”. Wonder what the member for Mahaut thinks?

Is this the desk of a head of government that we are constantly reminded that is working, no wonder why Parry Bellot told us that productivity is on the decline and it started from the top; Oh yes its a government that is working at an empty desk

    • Fairness!!
      November 20, 2012

Oh My Goodness! You people are just sick!!! Does having a clean desk signify you have no work to do? Does a person’s desk have to be all cramped up especially when you are a person who keeps high level meetings in your office? What to do with all you narrow-mindedness?

I can bet you that Roeau Valley, Blessings, Scar Face Lin (b/n you and me) will take this to Matt in the Morning.

They will dispute the picture ever existed, they will say it was photto shoped, the Ambassador hands is looking funny on his lap.

The unsuspecting Q Rabids will call and say all sorts of venomous things. I will be tried on Q95, it will be defeated on the Chronicle and on SUN newspaper.

It will be then appealed by Hector and Eddo with Ron saying nothing much.

Whats up Roseau Valley or/and 1979

    • Channel 1
      November 20, 2012

@Quantitative Easing – I am sure one can also find photos on the internet with persons such as Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein posing for photo opportunities with US or UK government personnel in the past ie when they were “friends” with the US or UK.

Bin Laden may even have had a photo opportunity with certain US government/agency officials in the past when it is alleged that Bin Laden was an agent for the American CIA in the fight against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980s.

Now, just what is the true reason for this picture being released? Is something else afloat here eg a public image-boosting campaign as rumors of a possible election swirl around in Dominica? I would like to believe that a US Ambassador taking a picture with the head of government from another country is a mere formality when meetings are held.

        November 20, 2012

@Channel 1 what are you really saying? You are pretty much validating my point that you uwp political tools would come up with some idiotic reasons to say stupid things.

That there is some reason why the picture was release.

Don’t you all have work to do?

It’s interesting that the prime minister is conscious of the negative publicity he has attracted by dissing the United States in favour of Venezuela and ALBA.
Now he seems to be on a charm offensive to prove that he is not anti US after all his ill advized forays into anti US foreign policy initiatives.
This is a classic case of political and cognitive dissonance. He is saying one thing and behaving in a manner that belies his spoken words.
And it is not as if the US authorities are not aware of the prime minister’s duplicity.
It certainly does not help his credibility to be shown posing with the US ambassador in the above photo, even if the caption says that the photo was released by the US embassy. My hunch is that the photo was released by the embassy to the prime minister who made it available to the press for propaganda purposes.
If I am wrong in my assumption about the photo the fact is still undeniable that the prime minister is conducting himself in a manner that is at odds with his public posture viz a-viz the United States and I am confident that one day the US authorities will call his bluff. It’s only a matter of time.
