A woman who tracked down her long-lost father in the US is now pregnant with his child.
Garry Ryan, 46, was tracked down by his daughter Penny Lawrence, 28, last year. He had left Ms Lawrence’s mother when she was pregnant, so father and daughter had never met.
Following the death of her mother and the grandparents who raised her, Ms Lawrence, from Los Angeles, became obsessed with finding her father, and tracked him down to Houston, Texas.
Upon meeting, they felt an instant physical attraction, which resulted in a sexual relationship. Ms Lawrence is now pregnant with her father’s child.
My take is they should do a paternity test to confirm whether or not they are related.
First, in the sight of God they committed the sin the Bible calls fornication which includes any type of illicit sexual intercourse.
Second, they committed incest which is a type of fornication. This is sex between two people who are closely related. It is one of the oldest and most universal of all the taboos.
Both these people should be charged with incest since they are both of age. (I am assuming they live in a country where is such a charge whatever it may be called.) They should face justice in the court.
However, my concern is for the baby. Too close a blood relationship between the parents can result in a serious abnormality. Tests should be done and the pregnancy should be monitored. Every consideration and care should be given to the child both before and after birth.
Serious thought should be given as to whether the child should be left with the mother or taken into custody.
This tragedy is a sad commentary on the times we live in. The increase of porn, sex between unmarried people, divorce, and perverted lifestyles is all leading up to the complete collapse of the morality that is the foundation of civilized society.
We need a return to Biblical Judeo-Christian morals and family values that will be mandated by legislation, enforced by law, taught in the homes and schools, and preached in the pulpits by pastors who understand that the ministry is a high calling not just a career.
