QUETTA, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) — Gunmen on Tuesday attacked a bus carrying Shiite Muslims workers in southwestern Pakistan, killing thirteen people and wounding seven others, police said.
The attack happened in the Akhtarabad area of Quetta city in Balochistan province when the gunmen, who were riding on motorcycles, stopped a bus and forced the passengers out. They subsequently opened fire on the passengers, killing 13 people.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen dragged some passengers down and shot them dead, the Pakistan Tribune reported. Reportedly around 20 to 30 people on board came under fire.
The victims were transferred to a nearby hospital where an emergency was declared. According to reports, casualties are feared to rise as some of the wounded are in critical condition.
Tuesday’s attack is the latest apparent sectarian attack to plague Pakistan. Last month, gunmen killed 26 Shiite Muslim pilgrims in a similar attack near Quetta.
It is a shame, to the Muslim world. Why don’t we love our brothers and sister and live in peace with each other.
