A nurse at a London hospital who took a hoax call about the Duchess of Cambridge has been found dead.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said in a statement they were “deeply saddened” by the death of the nurse, named as Jacintha Saldanha.
King Edward VII hospital paid tribute to “a first class nurse” who was the “victim of a hoax call.”

DNO has her picture. Thank you! I got a view of her face. Her picture was not posted on Toronto Sympatico Website, at least not yet. The pictures of the two Australians were posted with the information. One of the articles read, after the death of the nurse: “They are not laughing now.”
How true. Who is right and who is wrong in this case? We do not know the entire story and what really happened to her, if she did commit suicide, was this alone the cause of it?
As I do my chores I can hear what is being stated. Also the Holy Mass and Holy Rosary are broadcasted at certain times even the evenings. I do view TV, certain favorite programs and am an avid TV News listener.
It is sad that she died. It is not yet known what exactly happened to her. I hope we will hear more.
I hope the entire world has taken this to heart and in consideration that a hoax, a joke can go too far. A few years ago I remember reading an article by Ann Landers in a T.O. Newspaper: “Jokes made at the expense of others are not worth the hurt that is inflicted.” This is a typical example. Note what happened to the nurse.
As always, everyone has his/her opinion. As it is stated, “As many heads there are, it is as many opinions you will get.”
My speculation is that she was one of those who may have been reprimanded. Who knows what was stated to her after the hospital executives found out that the call was a hoax? After her death they came out and stated that she was an excellent worker. I am not disputing that. However, what was said to her after they learned of the hoax? Do you think that they did not reprimand both of them?
If you read the story, she was not the receptionist. She was filling-in for someone at that time. Fate has a way of dealing a hard blow which resulted in her death.
In Toronto, the recording of their voices was aired on TV and no doubt on the secular radio. I do not listen to the secular radio for a few reasons. The radio I listen to is Catholic Radio. It is enlightening, uplifting and I learn a lot about my faith and how well to serve Our Lord. The programs are out of this world as I would say.
As for those Australians, they are not presently at the Radio Station. I do not know if they are suspended or dismissed. I do think that they were out of place, too nosy and wicked to telephone the hospital in England to get personal information about Kate. Remember a Dominican saying: “You too fast! Mind your own business!”
Australians are upset with those two. Most people in Canada and other countries are upset with them. Worst yet, that it lead to the death of this lady. Many called for their dismissal.
It is speculated that she may have had personal problems and the hoax added to it. Let us empathize with her and consider: “There but for the grace of God go I.”
My heartfelt sympathy to her family. May her soul rest in peace. Amen!

I loved Princess Diana. I am still sad that she died and in such a manner. The entire world loved her but I would not make such a statement. I heard the speculation surrounding her and her boyfriend’s accidental death. I have no idea if it is true or not. God knows the truth.
Did you not read the story or hear it on the News? She took the telephone call but handed the phone to another nurse.

Has anyone even considered for a second that she could have had a pre-existing condition and it was just a coincidence that it may have escalated at this time?

Jayson, according to what I heard in Toronto on TV and read on the Toronto Website it is speculated that she committed suicide. It is not yet officially confirmed. You should admit that her death is strange and after the hoax, it is sad. I wonder if we will hear and read more of her story.

You never know what her life was like and what she was undergoing at that time, be it of a personal nature. This added to it. Be compassionate.
well i think the lady knew what she would be going to with bosses on her case and the cameras and just being ther to answer everyones question would be too much for her . her mind would never be at rest. this is the royaly she has to deal with . its easy in d/ca but not in these big countries . things dont just pass by . too many questions to be answered. i really felt sorry for her. it could have happen to anyone. but who can bare it.

How depressing to be thrown to the deep end! I feel sad for her and the family. Not sure of the protocal for the hospital but this could have happened to any of the nurses in the hospital
Well I don’t know what she would have done if she was the nurse who actually divulged all the information. All she did was answer the phone…
I guess some people are very weak and we should be careful with our actions since we never know how it will affect others.
While I acknowledge that the actions of the DJs could have resulted in people losing their jobs etc…I think it was a funny gag and was meant in good fun.
Unfortunate how it turned out. It is really striking what we get uptight about while the bigger matters in this world get so little attention.
The shock of knowing that it was a hoax, she probably could not stand it and also the pressure. She would have been questioned by many and even hounded by the Media.
In this world we have to be extremely strong of faith and have hope in God. Some people are not as strong as others. We are not all the same. Even religious people commit suicide over personal matters. Do they not get sick as well and die?
If it were me I would have been concerned and worried. Thanks be to God, with my faith, I would not commit suicide. It is a sin to take one’s life. I would go to church, pray to God, pray the Holy Rosary and read my Holy Bible especially the relevant Psalms to give me some strength and peace of mind.
To add to the news, its was said she might have taken her own life…..very sad..
Sad that she could take this so personal to end her life leaving her kids behind. However this goes to show how stupidity in the name of pranks can harm people’s reputation and derail lives. I hope these dumb DJ’s are proud of themselves. William and Kate are not unlike any other human being at the end of the day and it was insensitve and mean spirited of them to go that far when the woman is in a hospital in a precarious position with a baby. All this stress and guilt of the nurse killing herself can now cause the girl to have a miscarriage. People need to learn when to stop meddling and being stupid.

For the person, in the name of “Tri-State Beauty” did exactly what he or she is speaking against, in the above quote–pertaining to those DJ’s–to me, when he or she claimed that I had a “serious problem and should learn to know the “FACTS” before I commented”, pertaining the man who was to be released from prison, he who murdered his pregnant girlfriend.
Tri-State Beauty boldly said to me that the man “was” released on Friday, December 7th, 2012—I, having commented according to information in that news article. Nonetheless the comment of Tri-State Beauty to me, was posted on Thursday, December 6th, 2012.
