As a muslim my views on Osama bin Laden is very simple. Firstly, we abhor all terror activities directed against civilians who are muslims and non muslims. It is completely forbidden in Islam to kill non combatants, monks, rabbis, elderly people, children. It is forbidden to destroy churches, synagogues. After saying this, I believe that the circumstantial ‘evidence’ surrounding Osama bin Laden is very inconclusive.

There are immense benefits in announcing Osama is dead.
All you have to do is look at your TV screens and see the renewed sense of patriotism and purpose that has been injected into the American people.
It could potentially give Obama another 4 more years in office and the US now have a fresh blank cheque to pursue with an iron fist it’s policies in Libya and the broader Middle East.

I always hoped that Bin Laden would be captured and brought to trial; unfortunately, that will not happen. Regardless of the crimes he may have been involved in, I don’t believe in any kind of killing of another human being. I think the world would feel better if he was captured, tried and sentenced for his crimes. Based on the reports, it sounds like he resisted and was not interested in been taken alive, and as such, arresting him was not an option.
Reading some of the comments here, it sounds like we have forgotten that the events of September 11th, 2001 affected the whole world. People from almost every country in the world, of every religious belief, of every race, color creed and class have died as a result of Bin Laden’s operations. The bombings at the US embassies in Africa took the lives of hundreds of African Muslims. Please don’t forget that.

Osama bin Laden got what he deserved. He has gone to his eternal judgment. I reiterate and always will, let the punishment fit the crime. This is the Law of God and for eternity.
I am not that religious. I don’t believe in life or anything after death. I simply say that when you are dead, it’s over. I am not Christian, Muslim or Catholic. I am pretty close to being a heathen.
At the same time, I believe death is the easy way out. Bin laden did not get to pay for the crimes he may have been involved in. He did not suffer. He died the way he wanted to; a bullet thru the eye causing instant death. When you are suicidal, or believe in meeting 74 virgins after death, you can barely get it any easier.
Regarding the prison population and handling murderers, I don’t believe in killing but I do believe that criminals should pay for their crimes. They should be removed from the rest of society and allowed to survive in some fashion, but I don’t think we should be responsible for killing them. That leaves scars and suffering to those that are left alive. In other words, Osama is dead and that does not matter to him anymore, but those that he left behind are suffering. He is getting off way too easy.
Besides, let the killers do their killing. Don’t reduce yourself to their level.

Fitzroy St.Rose was a Dominican who was at work in the World trade Center when it went down on 9/11/2000. Though I cannot substantiate it, I heard that his last words were a phone call to his mom in DA while he was trapped in the building. So you see, terrorism knows NO boundaries.
May he indeed rest in peace. His young life was snuffed out of him. Poor guy, who no doubt suffered with smoke inhalation and was burnt. Visualize what he went through to see his life waning and nowhere to run and hide.
I feel for his family as well who will never forget him and what occurred to him.
As stated in my comment, a friend who resides in the U.S. sent me his picture after 9-11 occurred when the search was one for him. I have never met him but I will keep the picture. It is a reminder of that sad day on 9-11. I had shed tears to view what was then unfolding as seen on TV and for those people who perished.
A friend who also resides in Toronto had informed me that the morning while at work, he had spoken to one of his friends in Toronto. Also, when this disaster occurred he left the office and went into the hallway, probably to take the elevator and had telephoned his mother in that area. They did not hear from him after that.

It is a Jewish tradition as well as a Muslim one to bury their dead within 24 hours. Recall those days when specifically Dominica did not have funeral parlors. Their deceased relatives had to be buried within 12 hours so that the body did not begin decomposing due to the heat.
I believe that Muslims are not embalmed.
The US buried Osama at sea so that no one finds him as his supporters and make a hero out of him. If he were buried in a grave they would surely dig him up and parade him through the streets.
I do not endorse that people should be buried in the sea. There are edible fishes in the sea which fishermen catch for our consumption. I hope they buried him very far out in the horizon. Even then mortal remains should never be buried at sea, no matter what the preference of the departed. They should be buried in an appropriate cemetery or cremated. Cremated remains should never be thrown into the sea or lake for obvious reasons. This is something that governments of the world should advise natonals to cease doing and for health reasons.
bury the bastard and finish with that. i think it was a good choice to bury the body at sea so that those who love him cannot build a shrine and gather/rally where he would’ve been buried on land. however i would’ve liked to see the damn body first!
not buying it. why at least no allowance for photos or video clippings of the dead body before burial? isn’t the body the proof that we need along with the DNA. A body would sure as hell address my skepticism that this man was just killed last night.
My sentiments exactly. The absence of photographic evidence of a body leaves many unanswered questions. Think critically. The alleged DNA could have been taken from a piece of his clothing which could have been discarded by him earlier. Who can say that there is substantial evidence that Osama is really dead and buried? The point is that most people today believe whatever they see on the news without question. The illusion works for those in power with the agenda.
