The UK supreme court rules Boris Johnson’s suspension of parliament unlawful

Judges rule unanimously that PM’s decision to prorogue parliament can be examined by judges

The supreme court has ruled that Boris Johnson’s advice to the Queen that parliament should be prorogued for five weeks at the height of the Brexit crisis was unlawful, the Guardian has reported.

The judgment from 11 justices on the UK’s highest court follows an emergency three-day hearing last week that exposed fundamental legal differences over interpreting the country’s unwritten constitution.

The decision was read out by Lady Hale, the president of the supreme court. Unusually, none of the parties were provided with advance copies of the judgment due to its extreme sensitivity. Only seven of the 11 justices who heard the case were present in court.

BB will be going down in UK history as a one of the shortest serving PM. He thought he would get away with his bullying antics and and constant lies but he underestimated the UK citizens. Skerrit take note, you might have survived somewhat longer but the clock is ticking for you as well.

But wait nuh, the British people voted to leave the European Union in 2016 referendum. Now we have anti-Brexit parliamentarians and the courts using all sort of machinations to delay or even prevent the wishes of the majority.

So that dat is de Democracy dere nuh.

The supreme court made it clear that this has nothing to do with the U.K. leaving the E.U.or not. It are the P.M.’s actions and his motivation for them that were ruled to be illegal, unequivocably and unanimously. The U.K. has no written constitution whereas we do but the same principle applies that the government executive, more precise the P.M. is accountable and answerable to parliament, all the people’s representatives and must not act unilaterally. Our parliament and judiciary follow the British system and I would hope that we follow today’s learned judgement. As for the Speaker, it would be wise to remember that in case of doubt the constitution always has precedent over standing orders.

It is not the British people it is Putin that wants it. He is trying to wreck the United States too as well as the EU. As long as Putin has his men like Trump and Boris he may succeed. Putin put both in power.

You haven’t got a clue what you are talking about! This had nothing to do with Brexit but had all to do with a PM that thought he was above the law!!! Sounds familiar, doesn’t it??
As for you Channel1, you should read the statement of the Supreme Court in full, that would have saved you a massive embarrassment!

But read that again! The court did not rule on the referendum as I can see. It said that the British P. M. illegally suspended parliament the way he did. Thats all, nothing to do with brexit or the way people voted in that.
