UPDATE: Scepticism surrounds ‘Gaddafi son’s death’; NATO yet to confirm

Libya claims that Saif al-Arab Gaddafi was killed by a NATO airstrike

Libyans in the opposition stronghold of Benghazi have taken to the streets to celebrate the government’s announcement of the death of Muammar Gaddafi’s youngest son in an air strike, but growing scepticism remains over the veracity of the news.

Gaddafi and his wife were in the Tripoli house of his 29-year-old son, Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, when it was hit by at least one missile fired by a NATO warplane late on Saturday, Libyan government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said on Sunday.

Al-Arab’s compound in Tripoli’s Garghour neighbourhood was attacked “with full power” in a “direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country”, Ibrahim said, calling the strike a violation of international law.

But I find some of you desparate to defend Gaddafi. So many innocent people Gaddafi has the blood stains on his hands for. He announced that he was willing to die, you know! So, all that is a part of it. We all know the tactics of these dictators like it is from a book. They do all these terrible things and then the minute something happens to them that is personal, they cry to get international sympathy. I am not supporting any death at all, but we have all seen (hopefully) the kind of ‘man’ Gaddafi is. I will be the first to admit that I am hard in this matter, but I just cannot give him the sympathy he is so desparate to get this late in the game. Gaddafi knows how this story ends. It is only a matter of time!

You need to also give credit to Gaddafi for turning Libya into the richest country in Africa that has not been taken over by imperialists. They have their own monetary system and their own oil reserves which they developed. The globalists want to run everything and he is a thorn in their side. Gaddafi is far from perfect and an egotist, but he doesn’t just go around murdering his own people for no reason. That is the CIA propaganda. They are the ones bombing all of the civilians over there right now.

Officials said it killed 29-year-old Seif al-Arab Gadhafi, who had survived a 1986 U.S. airstrike on his father’s Bab al-Aziziya residential compound. Also killed were 2-year-old Carthage, the daughter of Gadhafi’s son Hannibal; six-month-old Mastura, daughter of Gadhafi’s daughter Aisha; and 15-month-old Seif Mohammed, son of Gadhafi’s son Mohammed.

Dr. Gerard Le Clouerec, a French orthopedic surgeon who runs a private clinic in Tripoli, inspected the bodies of an adult and two infants at Tripoli’s Green Hospital on Sunday.

He told reporters that the adult’s face was intact and that “in relation to a photo we have seen most probably was the son of Gadhafi.” He said the adult had a thin mustache and a full beard.
The two children had been badly disfigured, the doctor said.

You people who support murdering babies so that France, Britain and the US can steal Libyan oil are no better than what you accuse Gadhafi of being. When will you all open your eyes to the reality of what is happening?

I’m an eye for an eye person. I feel no pitty for Kadafi and his family. In fact they had it coming. After slaughtering their own people they should feel the heat of pay back. We must not forget also that Kadafi is responsible for the suffering of the families of the Panam flight bombing. Let him pay and let that be a message for all those dictators out there.

The three grandsons under 12 yrs old had it coming? If that is your mentality you are even worse than Gadhafi…

If you are a bad person you would want someone to target your innocent family members to get you?

TRIPOLI, Libya – Angry mobs attacked Western embassies and a U.N. office in Tripoli Sunday after NATO bombed Moammar Gadhafi’s family compound in an attack officials said killed the leader’s second youngest son and three grandchildren, ages six months to two years.

You are obviously not worth the discussion when you can so proudly assume that because of my opinion I am worse than Kadaffi. retribution was forth coming and maybe Kadaffi and his sons should have used the ilgotten wealth to get their family out of harms way. Kadaffi and family is smart enough to know that one day pay back would come knocking on the doors. To answer your question -Yes the family had it coming that include children and children children. Karma my friend not my doing or yours.Do i feel for the children yes I do.
I hope that puts your arrogance into a garbage bag.

Try to spell correctly dumb a*s. The word is ‘ridicule’ and I don’t think it can be used in that way. For once someone is trying to put some sense into people’s heads instead of talking cr*p and because they go against your unfounded opinionated bull, and because you can’t come up with any valid form of rebuttal you take to personal attacks. You, my friend, are the ridiculous one…

I think Gaddafi may have killed his own son to gain sympathy and to justify his actions and maybe the hope of stopping foreign forces from interfering…you may think its a joke or thats stupid thinking, but people like Gaddafi are forced to make grave decisions and sacrifices all the time… its all about the bigger picture with these people…he will look like less of an animal and his son is now officially a Martyr.

A few insightful comments written by AMERICANS i’m copying and pasting from Yahoo News. Good to know not everyone is buying the propaganda, including Americans. You Dominican Americans out there blindly supporting a crooked foreign policy should take note:
    ——————————————————————-
And yet we were told from the very start that we were not taking sides, that this wasn’t about regime change… and yet here we are today, lying, taking sides and murdering in the name of democracy and international justice. My prayers today are for Moammar Ghadafi and his family and their loss… My prayers today are also for the lost souls of NATO and her allies. The powers that be lied to us and involved us in an illegal war for witch we will have to pay a very high price. Their only buisness there is ‘oil’ not liberty. If we haven’t learned anything from the Iraqi LIE , we will never learn anything at all…

    ——————————————————————-

NATO (Americans) killing children while trying to assassinate other countries leaders, who have shown no aggression to the United States, is that’s really something for Americans to be PROUD of…It’s really all about oil though, isn’t it? Are we, the American people going to continue to allow our elected officials (Government) to rape the world of it’s natural resources for the Corporate Elite? while they line their own pockets? Are we going to allow this to be our legacy? Wake up AMERICA and put your Government, elected officials in check and take responsibility for your Government (elected officials).

    ——————————————————————

Syria butchers its civilians in the streets and not a peep out of NATO. Gaddafi is provoked into an insurgent-supported civil war and NATO kills Gaddafi’s son and three young grandchildren. So much for “humanitarian concerns”.

Gaddafi is not a kind, benevolent leader. Everyone knows this. But he is the legitimate leader of Libya. He was considering to nationalize Libya’s oil fields – an act that would have left British and French oil companies out of the financial loop. When NATO began its strikes, there was no clear and present danger to the U.S from Gaddafi. He deserved to be unseated back in the 1980s, but too much time has passed. He was allowed to survive too long, and allowed to moderate his foreign policies and become a cooperative member of the international community in the years since. The time for retribution for Pan Am and the bombings of US troops in Europe came and was allowed to slip away by earlier U.S administrations.

There is no legitimate excuse for the U.S to participate in action against Libya in 2011. The U.S should not spend one more cent, or send one soldier into action in Libya to support the oil interests of Britain and France.
