Mobs in Venezuela have stolen flour, chicken and even underwear this week as looting increases across the crisis-hit OPEC nation where many basic products have run short.

Many people now get up in the dead of night to spend hours in long lines in front of supermarkets. But as more end up empty-handed and black market prices soar, plundering is rising in Venezuela, already one of the world’s most violent countries.

There is no official data, but rights group Venezuelan Observatory for Social Conflict reported 107 episodes of looting or attempted looting in the first quarter.

Videos of crowds breaking into shops, swarming onto trucks or fighting over products frequently make the rounds on social media, though footage is often hard to confirm.

In one of the latest incidents, several hundred people looted a truck carrying kitchen rolls, salt and shampoo after it crashed and some of its load tumbled out in volatile Tachira state on Thursday, according to a local official and witnesses.

Hope Dominicans are opening their eyes to see what dictatorship, depending on handouts from dictators, unemployment, begging, poverty etc can do, dictators and their children are billionaires stealing the resources of their countries. Chavez daughter is a billionaire, Skerrit child mother is a multi millionaire, my dominica trade house owner is a billionaire, the rest of his cronies are millionaire setting up themselves and their families, but skerrit is fooling some fools in Dominica, given them handout breadcrumbs, creating a country of beggars, fooling them in believing that he cares about them only to get their votes, the sad thing about it the poor beggars are the ones saying they fo not care what people say is jealous people jealous of Skerrit, when they will want to open their eyes it will be too late for dominica is heading to be worst than Venezuela, the signs are already on the ground all over the island, dominicans please wake up to save our country

Lord help Venezuela, this is the result of corruption in the country ,only the poor people will suffer the consequences of the evil people who takes the tax payers money .There is no medication at the hospitals, patients must pay for their own medicine, the hospitals needs falling to bits, in a country with petrol this should never be the outcome .Hope there will be some sort on intervention to solve that problem.

A friend in need, is a friend indeed. It would appear, that is not Skeritt’s belief. Madura has helped us on many occasions, we have not heard one word of solidarity from Skeritt. We have not heard of any assistance from Skeritt, whether in cash or kind. We have not heard one word from Skeriitt, as though Venezuela is in the best of health. Aaron spends his time, weekly, writing nonsense about Linton, but as Ambassador, what is happening in Venezuela is none of his business. Remember after Erika, Madura was in Dominica to a great welcome with all his goodies, but today, Skeritt, Aaron and the Government, it would appear, have declared enemy with him and his Government. I wonder what is going through his mind, when he thinks of what his Government and himself have done for Skeritt. On behalf of the people of Dominica, we wish to share your pain. I want you to know the people of Dominica have not forsaken you, it is the ungrateful Government under the leadership of Skeritt.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money. Unfortunately for the Venezuelan people, the government hasn’t yet run out of tear gas and bullets. So it’s gonna get worse for them before it gets better.

    WELL!!! WELL! WELL!!!
This is no surprise…Maduros/Chavez paradigm for propelling Venezuela forward was to have people poor and dependent on HANDOUTS…This must lead to greater poverty and even indigency..See the countries with idiotic leaders who have copied Venezuela’s policies like Dominica…Poverty and unemployment are the order of the day….I STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE VENEZUELAN PEOPLE…Since Dominica does not even have an economy,I see the same thing happening here soon…Poor, greedy and corrupt leaders can ruin a country.
