Vermont governor no longer a stranger in Dominica?

Shumlin

Gov. Peter Shumlin might have to pick a new vacation spot if he wants to travel incognito.

The publicity surrounding Shumlin’s recent hush-hush vacation to Dominica has trickled back to the tropical Caribbean island, courtesy of the Internet. News articles, or links to Vermont publications, complete with photos of Shumlin, have cropped up on at least half a dozen blogs and Dominica news websites.

Before his early March vacation, Shumlin told only two people on his staff where he was going. When a blizzard slammed the state and Lt. Gov. Phil Scott was left in charge, reporters started asking about Shumlin’s whereabouts.

Come againa Govevernor, we need more governors to come. While some of us do not appreciate what we have there are those dieing for a little piece. These are the public figures we need not those our leaders striking deal with and giving Diplomatic Passports to for under the table deals. These deals take us no where. Governor if you read this piece please invite of other colleagues and friends to come taste a little of what we have to offer. I am sure you made some healthly friendship in Bese and Calibishie. I know that. I also have friends in Vermount who come from time to time. I have visited Vermount and I love the place. Clean and nice. It’s a lovely place to be.

Some people love Dominica. It is a beautiful, quiet and picturesque place to go to for vacation. Be proud of that fellow Dominicans. What with the rivers and lakes. Stating this makes me homesick.
Donald Trump may have heard of Dominica through the US Media when this story broke out, if he had not already heard of it.
The Governor might return to Dominica and incognito. He is entitled to his privacy. Hats off to him for traveling to Dominica incognito. I, personally did not see anything wrong with that.
Were it not for the snow storm in Vermont, they would not have known he was away on vacation. Next time he should choose Spring or Fall – Autumn or summer to visit. People in the cold countries prefer traveling to the warm climate during winter.
The PM should extend an invitation to him to return to Dominica. He may just want to invest in Dominica.
You know what? In any case the US Media was envious. They always blow everything out of proportion. The US Media can be scandalous. They love to expose people even though some of them have a right to their privacy. The US Media is no better.
Be pleased that a man of the Governor’s stature chose Dominica for his vacation and twice. He may just return sooner or later. I hope he does and bring some other officials and their family with him.

You must be mad if you think what you said is true, with all the paros harassing people in Roseau, the dirty gutters, the vendors everywhere, the tour guides who yell at tourists. Dominica has a long way to go.

All the Governor is doing is checking to see if the PM is serious about demolishing his old building, The Governor’s Mansion on Victoria Street, to make way for fine Chinese Architecturing. That’s it. He has already gotten confirmation that it will be demolished notwithstanding Jerry’s white Billboards all over town.

Mr. Shumblin has been to our beautiful country more than once. he was responsible for the Putney Students from Vermont. that’s a group of US student from Vermont who visit the south east community of La Plaine doing comunity project during the summer time.

he along with his family has also visited that said community. i personnally has had the opportunity to have lunch with Mr.Shumblin. and must i say this warm hearted gently man is very down to earth and would certainly not be of any harm to our country. from the first day he visited dominica he has always said that this is the place for rest and relaxation. he has made many friends in La Plaine and Calibishe. i wish him well in his office as governor…..a dream that he has always had to serve his people
