Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said Dominica is reiterating its cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco.
On Friday, the Prime Minister met with the ambassador of Morocco to Dominica, Mohammed Benjilany.
“We really want to reiterate our commitment to working with the Moroccan authorities ….. and to indicate to your king that Dominica remains steadfast in its support and cooperation,” he said.
He noted that within a short period of time, the two countries have developed a “very strong bond” of friendship and cooperation.
Following Tropical Storm Erika, Morocco provided fertilizer to farmers to assist those who lost their crops and the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the gesture.
“They were very helpful after the storm, in agriculture you have been very very helpful particularly with the supply of fertilizer and the last shipment came at a very important time just after the storm,” he noted.
Skerrit noted that all the fertilizer has been distributed to farmers.
Benjilany said his country is very happy to work with Dominica, especially after Erika.
“Morroco is very glad to work side by side with Dominica,” he remarked. “It is traditionally Morocco to show solidarity without partners and friends over the world. What happened in Dominica was something that would not be left out of this tradition.”
Dominica and Morocco established relations in 2010.
Maybe Roosevelt Skerrit realizing now that the unfinished hotel is in the wrong place all along and in the way of any deal he may have made with Lap Seng? He could even sell that ruin to Lap Seng seeing it did not cost us any thing but is the property of the government, so what is there to lose if they break it down?

The Prime Minister expressed thanks for the fertilisers received and that all was distributed to farmers. But it is well known that the ministry of agriculture and its extension staff was not involved in the distribution of fertilisers to farmers, but in fact the distribution was done by the respective parliamentarians of the Labour Party and operative and supported of the Party. There are well known farmers who did not received any fertilisers. It is alleged that some persons who received fertilisers are not farmers and some don’t even have a square foot of land with a blade of grass. Dominican, that is government plans for agriculture but no strategy for the long term sustainability of agriculture. The European Union must pay special attention for the fertilisers being distributed under the BAM program.

Right-thinking Dominicans must speculate about that hotel in Portsmouth that Skerritt DLP Gov’t told us was funded by the Moroccan Gov’t.

Remember Dominicans were told that the hotel would be built in Marigot, so that pilots, staff, travelers could be accommodated there and overnight, instead of that long drive to Roseau?, That was in the agreement signed with Morocco Gov’t to build that hotel in Marigot as they told us .All of a sudden agreement change? Hotel was changing residence. It traveled to Portsmouth, just like that.
Talk, talk, talk about jobs, boosting of economy, tourism will develop, more hotels, more hotel rooms, work for Portsmouth youth, town will boom.
After how many Years, hotel funded by the Gov’t of Morocco cannot finish build. Questions posed about the status of that incomplete hotel have not be answered.
Is it really an agreement with the Gov’t of Morocco, or with a private Moroccan Co.?

Education is pad for throughout high school and two years of college, medical debt is non issue, allu great grand and grand parents give allu there land… Dominicans drink more rum per capita than any other Caribbean country but you ballin you poor?

This may take years, if approved. These services will be subsidized by the government. Those providers will also have a say.
Dominica and nationals are much better off today than in bygone years. Some people are too ungrateful. The more some have the more they want and are demanding at that. They lack appreciation.

A country in itself cannot be in deep poverty. Are you in deep poverty? Why? Examine your past and present life to see why this is.
Some people are responsible for the poverty of the country and their own. If everyone cared for their country and contributed to its revenue, the country would be better. Too many live for themselves and do not care about their future.
