IOM Dominica’s Head of Office address: International Migrants Day

IOM Dominica Head of Office, Natasha Greaves

Dominica’s vibrant tapestry is woven with the threads of diversity brought by migrants. Their invaluable contributions have shaped the foundation of our nation, adding richness to our culture, resilience to our communities, and strength to our society.

As we celebrate International Migrants Day today, Monday 18 December 2023, let’s reflect on the theme: “Honouring the Contributions of Migrants and Respecting their Rights.”

Today, we honour every migrant who, with courage and determination, has left home in search of a better future. They contribute to our economy, bring unique perspectives, and play an integral role in building the thriving Dominica we cherish.

Let’s stand united in recognizing the rights of migrants, ensuring they are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Every individual, regardless of origin, adds to the colourful mosaic of our shared identity.

Join me in celebrating the spirit of inclusivity, acknowledging the valuable contributions of migrants, and affirming our commitment to a society where everyone is respected and treated equally.
