With the mandate of sensitizing issues of child abuse locally, the Kalinago Child Support Foundation (KCSF) Inc has launched a ‘Banner Initiative’ under its Child Abuse Prevention Campaign.

The KCSF Inc is a non-profit organization currently serving 300 children. According to its mission, the organization seeks the development, nurturing, and empowerment of Kalinago children, aiming to “help break the cycle of poverty and abuse by providing awareness, necessities, and educational opportunities for all children and their families in the Kalinago Territory.”

The Banner Initiative launched on Thursday, August 8, renders an opportunity for business owners to support the organization’s campaign against child abuse, by purchasing banners to be erected island-wide, featuring the respective business’ logo. During her address at the UWI, Founder and Executive Director of KCSF Inc. Amanda Theodore Langlais outlined the deep significance of the initiative, encouraging businesses to take advantage of such an impactful opportunity.

She encouraged, “Imagine your company’s name and logo associated with a cause that resonates deeply with the community.” She continued, “this is not just an advertisement, it’s a testament to your dedication to the well-being of our children and the future of our society. By partnering with us, you are making a statement that your business cares about more than just profits; it cares about people.”

Langlais reiterated the need for advocating against child abuse, urging the public’s participation in mitigating these occurrences. “If you see or suspect child abuse, report it. Let us all be vigilant, proactive, and compassionate. Our children depend on us to protect them, and it is a responsibility we must all share.”

The Banners can be purchased through the Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc at a price of $5,000.00.

“Once voice against child abuse start a chorus for change”.

I wholeheartedly support the objectives, aims, goals and work of the Kalinago Child Support Foundation (KCSF). Abuse of innocent children (physical, emotional, sexual, neglect, abandonment) by adults should be punished by the full extent of draconian laws as a deterrent.

I hope not only the business community but the whole of society support the uninvited and work of this non-profit profitable organisation.

Each day of our lives we should make sure to deposit love, kindness, happiness, excellence, honesty, courage in the minds/psyche of our children.
