Amazing! I am amazed that the results of an election in America, can stimulate a debate or discussion in Dominica, a place which has absolutely nothing in common with or is connected to Dominica in any way politically or otherwise!
What is the point of analyzing what transpired, when you all don’t really know what caused the outcome!
Yesterday, most political pundits and analysts predicted that Harris would have won the election: it was not until they saw Trump mustered 172 of the 270 electoral college to win they realized by then it was impossible for her to become president.
You guys do not live in America, you are taking not fully understanding the process and what caused her to lose! I’ll drop this, racism, sexism, bigotry still exists and rampant in America, apart from that blame some of our black people who ran off their mouth about “first black woman president.” They went overboard with such rhetoric! They forgot once there’s alienation of others result was inevitable!
DNO why don’t you agitate for a debate between the two major political parties on pressing national issues? Wouldn’t that be more meaningful?
As one of the leading media outlets do something to shed light on the myriad of issues mitigating against the progress and advancement of Dominica.
Here are just a few issues to put on the table:
1. How to entice Dominicans living in the diaspora to return and invest to buttress the economy.
2. Ways of adopting a good governance agenda (transparency, fair elections, merits based promotion in the public service, etc.)
3. Improving the organs of government to get more done with less resources.
4. Equitable distribution of public resources
Good ideas, innovations, enlightenment and solutions are truly had from robust and intelligent debates.
👍👍👍👍.. just people seeking relevance, we have enough issues in Dominica to talk about and many problems to fix. The results of the US elections will have little impact on Dominica if any at all.
I agree with you!
Even people who are born in America never left would have difficulty analyzing the results of the day before yesterday! The reason is the issues in one State is not unique to every state, okay.
Believe it or not if you ask some Americans where Harris was born they don’t know. The problem with our people in Dominica is that we have a resolve for all the world’s problems, nevertheless, where it pertains to Dominica, we are content with the status quo, in poverty and distress.
I am reading where Roosevelt gave some award to the British government: for what purpose is that what shall be beneficial from that? It’s all theatre you see a show, a play; meanwhile when one is admitted to hospital in Roseau, they have to take along their pillows and bed linings to accommodate themselves.
On the contrary, they don’t even have a pharmacy, with a supply of common medicine to treat patients, Dominica is the only place people leave money in hospitals to buy medicines for…
