Days after saying that it has ceased placing content on Marpin2k4, Collywood TV has announced it will be moving to SAT TV.
The announcement was made on Friday by Collywood’s CEO, Junior Hart.
“I believe now that Collywood will now have a proper home for all our future productions,” Hart said. “Dominica has a lot of untapped talent and we aim to nurture and package those unknown talents and market them abroad.”
Hart said the company has an “exciting roster” of programs to be aired on SAT and subscribers of the cable company will be able to see all previous Collywood productions.
New programs to be seen include drama series such as The Arrangement, Clean up Women, The Young Baby Mothers which are all under production, according to Hart.
“There has never been a more exciting time for Dominican TV,” he said. “Collywood will also be launching Collywood News which will be dealing with news from around the Caribbean and Africa … this will be headed by Evangelin Joseph who has been in development as a news presenter. She will also be heading Collywood ER, a new entertainment program highlighting our Dominicans-local music artistes that will be signed to Collywood Music management WASP Management.”
He said Collywood is looking to upgrade its production “very soon” to high definition “to give SAT customers the best quality in Dominica.”
Hart noted that Collywood will be launching a cinematic tour in Marigot and Grand Bay after Lent during which the series “Tenants” will be shown on the big screen.
He said this will promote the company’s local artists and provide royalties for them.
Hart said Collywood pulled away from Marpin for what he described as “unfair practices.”

It is not about whether you like tenants or not. It is about support or lack of it for anything Dominican in the arts.
All U can criticize and yes, I see flaws in Collywood also. But how can any new DA TV channel be it Collywood or not ever get to grow? It is a very expensive thing to produce content … why you think that Marpin do not do it themselves.
If Bob Marley was reborn and raised in DA and tried to make his way … how far would he have got? … Nowhere. Because he would be expected to pay his own studio time, then pay his own Video then pay to play at some venue to showcase and then PAY Marpin to play his video. THEN all u on DNO would tell him to take singing lessons. Imagine that.
No internationally known artist actor has ever come from DA and I see why. You haters are so discouraging.

Collywood you really think what you are producing is top quality. I dont think you will get many people jumping over to SAT for your sake. You keep fooling the actors pay the people. And i hope the gender ministry protest against that stupid program he is trailering about the arrangement. There is nothing wrong with humble beginnings so stop the bashing and if you have a better idea to help, please do so. Get in contact with the artists and Mr Hart and volunteer your honest assistance. Speak to the artists one on one and help them to improve. What abou the other positive programs on Marcus Garvey, Malcom X, Slavery, ROOTS, Shaka Zulu, Documentaries on the Jewish Race who was the biggest slave traders, Where AIDS came from loads more that Collywood TV showed…what TV channel was you watching..was it only the music videos you were watching??? because I found Collywood TV very informative of my Balck history.

Magwayar there was no dismissal of Speilbert, Hart said he does not go by the white jewish man, but he patterns on his black brother Tyler Perry and there is nothing wrong with that. Collywood T.V is LAME!! when is was aired for the firt time, it caught my attention but through looking at your different programmes, it is simply pathetic!! no sence of exitement, none informative, dead, unfocused, not inviting. TENANTS is the worse program i have ever viewed. too self-centered, too premeditated, too personal, too quiet and boring like the characters only thinking of what too say when the cameras reach them!! ………. !! I watch the video link of the new Tenants series, I see nothing wrong with it..in fact it looks great to me with the Rasta and that lovely back drop..how can you say that this program is boring. Please tell ne what other Dominican programs stand up to this on TV…please let us know. I have watch the whole 24 episode of Tenants on the Collywood Pay Per View and i found it an achievement for Dominica. Why dont all you so call expert and film critics do better and put out your own production. I an glad I left that small minded Island..Mr Hart, you should go to St Lucia..they will love your work. I was in the Marpin foyer today diving them a piece of mind on why they did not try and work something out with Collywood I counted 10 people cominig saying we are all leaving to go over to SAT…the network is just rubbish.I think Collywood could have got Marpin lots of cutomers…You blew it Marpin, they should get rid of the managers. Good news. It is right that DA produced programs get backing.
A few days agoo I was reading what all the haters and negative people on DNO Dominica was slating Collywood and how Collywood must now R.I.P and good bye..it seems Collywood had the last laugh. What these haters on here have to learn is that they are weak in mind and have no power to do anything substantial. They can all try and tear everything down. I dont Junior Hart, but he is on a mission. Well done Mr Hart, keep kicking and beating these negative idiots up.
